lol I just posted what I observed watching Dravid bat in both innings'..I might be totally off the mark but what's wrong in airing one's opinion on a public forum ( like The Outsider and his "Amit Mishra is a minimum 300 test wickets bowler" prediction :P )..and you guys are after me as if I've been a Dravid hater all along!

So you think their opinions matter ? :winky: Yes, Dravid has been the player of the year so far, scoring hundreds in very tough circumstances. I agree that we fanatics (well some of us at least) go over the line in praise for the great man. But one mustn't forget the people surrounding the man himself who has held the team together and made them world beaters. When you think of saving a match on the fifth day, or when you think of a man who can see off the day's play, or when you want someone to see off the new ball - the first name that comes to your mind is Dravid. He isn't a flamboyant player, but boy is he not a glorious strokeplayer? The sweet sound of the ball after it hits his willow is a treat to watch. I have grown watching these two play, I find myself so privileged. I can never think of demeaning one to prove the others' superiority, in fact no one could, simply because these two legends are the best India has ever produced. I understand people showing fanaticism on the internet with some fascinating posts, but to show it by spewing venom, is simply unacceptable. So if I were you, I wouldn't bother about their opinion :two_thumbs_up: And yes Paaji, I respect you a lot and love reading your opinions. :icflove:

Dravid is not being able to bat well here as fast bouncy bowling with seam movement is not his forte. That also explains his record in SA. SRT though is good in these conditions. Not to say RD won't get a couple of 50s in this tour. He's too good a player not to do thaat. But don't expect repeat of Eng performance. Dravid though is good against swing bowling. Broad, Anderson and Bresnan were hardly bowling the speeds the Oz bowlers are getting. Our best bet is SRT getting big scores with two-three other batsmen getting 40-60. Anf then good fast bowling. SCG will be green it seems and Perth is Perth. Fast bowling is very important.

For a man who is in the form of his life it is very surprising to see him get bowled 3 times. He just is not able to cover the fast in cutters from the Aussie bowlers' date= i suspect this could very well be the last series for this great man. I am sure he must be feeling bad about the dropped catches as well which is happening quite frequently and if he doesnt have a big series i think he will call it quits.

It's still possible to praise one without the praise being construed as a disparaging remark for another - I do it all the time. What has become impossible is a sensible cricket discussion because of these Tendulkar bhakts - you really have to admire the level of moronity they have achieved and something I would have thought evolution would have taken care of when they blame Mr. X for losing his touch and call for his ouster despite Mr. X scoring 3 centuries in 5 tests, but are jizzing all across the forum about the "touch" of Mr. Y, who has been a walking wicket in those matches.

Now that's calling a spade a spade :hatsoff: Dravid has always been the easiest to target, not quite the following of a god or the in your face attitude of dada. It doesn't make him any less of a cricketer.

Dravid has never been very good against quick full pitched bowling. He is good in England and NZ, and can keep out short pitched stuff on South African and Australian tracks. But bowl full at 145+ kph on off stump, and he gets cleaned up quite easily. Bricks are coming off the wall.

The example of Federer and Nadal are pretty good, but one thing that you would know is that they are opponents and they do not play for the same team. If you compare Sachin and Ponting, yes it is still acceptable as they hail from different countries, and I being an Indian will support him. But demeaning either Dravid or Sachin who has given so much to the country just to prove the others' worth and his contributions is unbelievable.

Australia always manage to stifle RD for runs...that is how they have controlled him over the years and RD knows that but can't do anything about it. Should have got Laxman in at 3.

Nobody was calling for Dravids head either while he was averaging 20 at a breathtaking S/R of 33 with a grand total of 120 runs in the SAF series ( where he was a b!tch to everybody ) prior to the England Test series ... yet the resident head lunatic here is pissing away imagining things in his mind and the herd here is thinking that it is raining. The herd mentality of posters here is truly sickening. BTW Tendulkar scored 271 runs in a series where he was a b!tch to Anderson and Broad as compared to the 120 by his Jaminess.
