asterix Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 No wickets so far. Don't think he'll get many wickets in the series because of the zero variations he has in his bowling..
Yoda-esque Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 People say hes been unlucky..I disagree. Unlucky is when you bowl a 100 balls in the same spot and beat the batsman 50 times and fail to get an edge.
satishg Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I am not sure if you are watching the match because if you did you would know that he was India's best bowler and he was very unlucky to not get wickets. Troubled almost every batsman, cant believe people jumping on the gun without even knowing what they are talking about.
Bradman99 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I am not sure if you are watching the match because if you did you would know that he was India's best bowler and he was very unlucky to not get wickets. Troubled almost every batsman' date=' cant believe people jumping on the gun without even knowing what they are talking about.[/quote'] Agreed. Been very impressed by him.
asterix Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 Not convinced with that "unlucky" argument..Not going to help the team..
kabira Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 bowled well in patches, too short other times...Need to bowl consistently and he will get wickets. reminds me of Srinath...
satishg Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Well my friend it was his spell that caused Pontings dismissal, his 6 over spell was very intense and he troubled Ponting so much that he fished one outside off stump and got out.
wanted_desi Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 He is not a wicket-taker. Other than WI, i hardly have seen him taking wickets.
carnish Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 unlucky with the wickets again... i say bring back munaf.. he can do the containing job as well :orderorder::orderorder:
ViruRulez Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 bowled well but his later spells were mixed with him bowling wide in the final overs .. overall a very good bowling
Old guy Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 wasnt looking bad bowled good ones problem is his length if u want to go for wickets u need to bowl full at this lengh when ball would do something it iwll beat the bat by mile! i wont mind him going for some runs but getting some wickets good thing zack got u those 2 quick ones so now its equal at end of today
The Realist Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 He's becoming the new Harbhajan Singh - always picked irrespective of declining performances. Does not make the batsmen play enough and simply does not take enough wickets. He has not improved at all in the past few years and there is only so long a team can carry a passenger.
1983-2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 we need someone who can contain runs as a 3rd pace bowler
msb1991 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Not convinced with that "unlucky" argument..Not going to help the team.. You can be 'unlucky' in a day, not in a Test series - we'll see how he does by the end.
pensionplan Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Pointless thread. Overall he bowled well today and looked good.
VRV Singh Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 No wickets so far. Don't think he'll get many wickets in the series because of the zero variations he has in his bowling.. Surely this won't be the reason. He has shown enough to take wickets before. Just because his strength is not the strength of others, does not been he can't do it. Only watched the first session today, but Sharma bowled a really good couple of spells. But I am not sure the new ball does a lot given his natural length. Would be more inclined to give it to Yadav.
Hell Raiser Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 He bowled well in patches even in England but didn't get much wickets, I hope it doesn't happen on this tour as well. He is bowling at a decent pace and missing the bat, but no one remembers it unless a bowler have a 2-3 wickets to his name. Lets see how he bowls in the rest of the series.
carnish Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Ishaaant is turning out to be like Morne Morkel... does all the hard work but the new comers like Philander and de laang take away all the wickets.. :giggle:
Cricket Tragic Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Morkel has bowled some real rubbish recently. He isn't anywhere close to his best.
Clarke Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Awesome performance, 91/2 in the entire test including a tailender's wicket on a green top. If any of the Koomarrs had managed this, their heads would be on the line. But hey, Isshannt is a phaasstt bowler, nvm he doesn't quite bowl in the corridor. Praveen would be miles better than this guy and yet gets all the flak when talking about team selection.
