Old guy Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 nah ' date='we are not there yet ..if Ozs get to 350/7 kind of situation then fair enuf , but in todays case the bowlers where just tired towards the end ...i expect us to finizh them off ~325[/quote'] not really that bad today and siddle can play! we will get rid if them quickly tomorrow some very good bowls bowled but no luck
cameron_black Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 nopey nopey nopey... siddle is a no.9 batsman and batting higher up only because johnson isn't there. also considering the fact that the rest to come are absolute **** i think india have failed big time here. ideally should have restricted aussies to 250.
Lord Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 its damn frustrating.captaincy plus complacency may be the rreasons
ravishingravi Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I think Captain is primarily to blame. Don't really know when Dhoni will learn. He can get away with these tactics in India.
kabira Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Lots of play and misses..I think we will get them below 300 easily...
cowboysfan Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 i will take a score of 320-350,our tailenders(dhoni included) can bat a bit too.
The Realist Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Dhoni's captaincy is incredibly frustrating and just plain too conservative. The older he get the more negative he becomes. His captaincy is nearing the end of its natural shelf life, problem is that there is nobody else convincing on the horizon to take over.
saneindian Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 We were giving easy singles to Siddle as if he was a top 6 batsman. Utterly frustrating. Need to break this partnership early and then polish off the tail in the next 50 runs.
chainsmoker1985 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 It has something to do with the luck factor as well. But, we always blame India, but most of the teams struggle to get rid of the tail
Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 We were giving easy singles to Siddle as if he was a top 6 batsman. Utterly frustrating. Need to break this partnership early and then polish off the tail in the next 50 runs. True. Last hour was easy for them. I thought dhoni used ash win far too often before the new ball. Should have brought ishant back earlier. I also didn't understand why ishant couldn't stick to an over the wicket line to the right handers. Kept going around at times and never had a proper rhythm. Anyway, I am sure India will wrap them up quickly tomorrow.
singhprakash72 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Time and again Dhoni shows he is unable to go for kill, god knows when will it go in his head that you attack with a no 7 & 8 batsman not spread ur field. Not sure how many times India will find Aussies on mat like this. Worst he could not even contain runs with a defensive field??
Trundler27 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Dhoni is not a very aggressive captain and that's there for all to see.... he is trying to mix aggressive field placements with lots of caution (giving way too many singles throughout the innings). Despite losing the toss and battling the slow nature of this pitch, the seamers have done exceptionally well thus far. I'm happy with the effort of all 4 bowlers (perhaps Ashwin could have been better with his length). If we get them below 300 then it would be amazing but even a score of below 350 would be a very good effort by the boyz.... This match will get exciting in the coming days.
