surajmal Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Rebuild Assuming the current bowling lineup stays intact Here are the few names i could come up with for batting: Mukund Rahane Pujara Rohit Sharma Murali Vijay Badrinath Uday Kaul Batting Spots open immediately. #3, #5, #6, #7 and #1(temporarily) Kohli needs to quite 20/20 for the next little while and get some experience in county cricket and gambhir just needs to quite 20/20 and ODI altogether if he wants to play test cricket ever again. Try to go for the young guys, who haven't been corrupted by IPL yet. Add/subtract to the list as you wish.

MCcricket Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 India has done miserably in England and the trend seems to continue , Just looking at our fab four, Dravid is over 39 years, Tendulkar over 38, Laxman over 37,Zaheer seems to have the skills but looks to bowl 130 's, Captaincy has been the worst I have seen for a while combined with the selections. India needs to have Dhoni as ODI capt only, we need to appoint a test capt , Sehwag seems to be the option. Dravid, Laxman, need to be phased out as they are close to 40's, we need to plan for the future, we have nothing to loose as they are playing very poorly as if, rather invest in the future,I am not sure how long Tendulkar will play we need youngsters to play with him so they will learn and be groomed with him playing along. We need to have Murali, Pujara, Rohit, Mukund, Kohli come in, as batters, among bowlers we need to have a backup on Gony, Dinda, Irfan,Varun,Abu Nechim, Rahul Shukla , Suyal and Anwar Ahmed, in frame as left Handers. We need to try out Kaul, Ojha, some other keepers as Dhoni is very poor as capt and test bat away from home. It looks like we might as well be white washed here,also the selections of bench players is very poor so there is no competetin to playing eleven.

We dont need any seniors to groom the youngsters in sub continent.They are good enough to establish themselves just like they did in ODIs.All they need is proper chance.This grooming reason is another excuse to prolong the seniors career.Nothing else. Sehwag Gambhir Laxman and Sachin have scored a single century btw all of them combined in last 14 test innings.That is beyond pathetic none of them deserve to play after this series.Perhaps only Sehwag if he can reinvent his test batting and drop down to middle order.

Just because he can play attractive shots everyone assumed he has good technique.But he never had the technique to succeed away from India.It was a joke he was preferred over the likes of Rahane and Mukund in the first played
