A few months ago there were threads asking which would you prefer, series win in RSA, Eng, and Aus, or a world cup win. I said it then and I say it now. I would swap the WC win for these series win in a jiffy.

No way u can keep all these series but I wud take the 2011 WC win any day over these series. We just beated Australia last year in test series but who remembers that. As a matter of fact, I wud take Mohali win over Pakistan any day over series!!

Btw I will never forget Indo-Pak match. Woke up 230am, drove with my buddies to the university I graduated from (100kms), sat in the front line of crowd of more than 1000 people at 4am with more than 600 Pakistanis. We cheered, we jeered, I almost got in a physical fight with a Pakistani for abusing mother India. Can never forget the happy faces of Indian fans n sad faces of Pakistani. Lotsa of them cried and you r telling me that u wud take these series over Wcup win where we defeated Pakistan n knocked them out.. Sorry buddy

I believe Test Cricket has a chance after all! The poll results reflect that. It takes more effort and a higher skill level to conquer places like Oz, SAf and Eng. I'm not downgrading the importance of a World Cup though. Between the Mohali win and victory overseas, I know what I'll take :winky:

I wont even swap WorldT20 win for test series win in these countries.As a fan I was more happier after the WorldT20 win rather than the test series win in England which was won just a month prior to that.

I'm not sure there will ever be a match that would be more painful to lose. A World Cup Final would be bad but had Pakistan gone marching on to Mumbai it would have been unbearable. Pakistan fans still feel sad when they think about Mohali. Had it been the other way round, we would still be sad until we are 80 years old.

I felt a "high" when we won the world cup and it lasted several days.. a sense of euphoria. The joy was immense. I don't know if a test series win will make me feel like that. May be it will.. :dontknow:

I would like to add that recovering from the Centurion loss took quite some time. It affected our team's performance as well. Mohali is a forgotten story and certainly doesn't pain me in the least to discuss. Just don't bring 2003 WC into the discussion:((

No. It's the other way around. WC over test series anyday. Test series keep on coming every 3-4 years and it's easier to win as there are two teams only. World Cup there are always 3-4 good teams so harder to win.

Hard to describe. But I guess what we went through before the World Cup, reaching the semis was an achievement in itself. We had exceeded expectations by a mile! Our team was welcomed back on reaching Pakistan. A phenomenon never witnessed before after being knocked out by India.
