adi B Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 dhoni talks @well of course its a green pitch, i will again win the toss(dont know how) decide to bat 1st again... we`ll make slight improvement by scoring 192in the 1st innings, restrict aus to 620/6 declare this time, then lose again, but of course u can see the improvement in the 1st innings score, it is like an engine of a car, more u work on it better it`ll perform, but the problem is i dont have money for petrol :giggle:, so yeah in short, we`ll lose again

Still uncertain as to WACA bowling line-up Michael Clarke From: News Limited newspapers January 12, 2012 THERE is intense speculation about whether we will play four fast bowlers in Perth on what is expected to be a pace-friendly pitch. The answer is, I don't know. Until we look at the pitch today it's impossible to get an accurate gauge of how it might play. Certainly there would need to be exceptional circumstances for me not to play our spinner Nathan Lyon. However, if the pitch is like it was against England last summer - fast, bouncy and with plenty of grass generating sideways movement - it would be seriously tempting to play Mitchell Starc as the fourth paceman. It's always a tough decision to leave out a spinner. Five days is a lot of cricket and pitches can change enormously in that time. We only have to look at the recent Sydney Test, when 13 wickets fell on the first day and just one on the second. You don't want to take in four fast bowlers and find out late in the Test your attack is crying out for variation, particularly if you're bowling last. Pitches don't need to turn for spinners to make an impact. Off-spinners have been successful in Perth before drifting the ball away from the right hander into the breeze. The Fremantle Doctor can blow quite strongly coming up from the south-west and you need bowlers who can use it rather than fight it. The extra bounce is also a good weapon for spinners in Perth, as it is in Brisbane, where Nathan claimed seven wickets against New Zealand at the Gabba little more than a month ago. However we played four quicks in last summer's Perth Test against England and it was over in little more than three days, with Ryan Harris and Mitch Johnson claiming nine wickets each. It's great to have Ryan coming back from injury for this Test. Sadly, Ryan's return is at the expense of James Pattinson, who has been outstanding. It is a real shame that James has been ruled out with a foot injury. If he continues to develop the way he has this summer James has the potential to be one of the best fast bowlers in the world. Mitch Starc may well provide the left-arm inswing that Mitch Johnson devastated England with last summer. Mitch is a real talent who showed glimpses of how damaging he can be with his man of the match award for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash earlier this week. The flipside, of course, is that we also played four quicks against India in Perth four years ago and lost, so it is no guarantee of success, even in helpful conditions. For that reason it is our attitude as much as our personnel which will make the difference over the next week. We're still a long way from where we need to be, given our ambition is to regain the No. 1 ranking. We want to win all four Tests against India and are only halfway there. It's great to be 2-0 up after strong victories in Melbourne and Sydney but that is all history now. It means nothing when we walk out on to the WACA Ground tomorrow, green pitch or not.

According to STAR News Correspondent Kuntal Chakraborty, Approximately 15-20 people could be seen partying after uncovering the pitch. According to him, they entered the pitch at 8 pm local time. It remains unknown how they actually entered the premises of the cricket ground. BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla condemned the incident and said the wicket could have been damaged by the incident. He told STAR News that BCCI would speak to the Australian Cricket Board on the matter so that strict action could be taken against the offenders. Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli said the incident raised questions on the ability of the Australian Cricket Board to maintain standards of discipline
