16 man squad will be something like batsmen: mukund vijay zol - look at his stats. he would be in the team within 1 year rahane gambhir © pujara manoj tiwary kohli keepers: dinesh kartik uthappa spinners: jadeja ashwin pacers: pk zaheer umesh aaron

I would like to see uthappa as an opener in test team...Though he has average domestic record who knows he can be warner on bouncy pitches...he is good against short pitch bowling.
worth trying out. have him as opener for india a in a 4-day match and see how it goes

Gambhir as captain :hysterical: :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: What is wrong with you? This guy is not only tactically naive but also doesn't have a guaranteed spot.

Mukund Gambhir Pujara Tendulkar Rohit Kohli/UV MS + SREE * ZK Ashwin/Ojha PK/Yadav Sree to be given a 3 year tenure as captain in all formats and the team to be built around him and his plans.

 Talking about 2013 when we are getting our @$$es handed out to us... it's akin to Kohli & Ishant's sledging "come to India and we will show you" :haha: Fact is we had the best chance in ages to win in Aus and we blew it.

I am always surprised to see the praises showered for Cheteshwar Pujara. I haven't seen much of hm to be honest. Yes he has scored massive, but he has been hyped up a lot. I hope he goes on to become a big thing for us, but to be honest, I find it funny to see his name being raised whenever one of our young guns fail.

Dravid and VVS out retired, Tendulkar can still play for 12 months or a little more to provide support for the young kids. Shewag is a interesting one he needs to either be dropped or pushed down to 5 or 6.

Having won the world cup. Our top priority now should be to prepare the team for big test series. We don't have to be like England who are solely focusing on Ashes after every 2nd series. But it won't be any harm to Indian cricket if they players focus on these test games. I am making this topic sticky.

I think Varun Aaron's progression and what Ishant Sharma does from here will be crucial to the future of our bowling attack. Yadav with his 145+ bowling and wristy action that enables him to get late outswing to the right-hander has the potential to be a real leader of the attack (like Steyn). Ishant needs to be the Morkel to Yadav's Steyn. I think its important to have a genuine swing bowler there at all times, so thats why I'd go with Pathan in there, plus his batting adds some depth to the tail and 5 bowlers at all times, if we play Ashwin and Ojha to complete the attack. India desperately need a specialist batting coach, in addition to a bowling coach and fielding coach. Why they got rid of Robin Singh, I never understood. With Justin Langer rumoured to be departing from the Aussie camp, I think India should try to snap him up as a batting coach.
