CG Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 yes but most surfaces he'll play on will be easier than this. Actually a bit of bounce suits his game as he mostly hangs back and tries to whip it through leg side .
master22 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I think he will have a better overall career than laxman.Have more hopes on pujara he has the ability to reach upto the likes of smg,rd,srt. Rohit sharma is just hype and no show.
deathmonger Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 We are going overboard' date='Just beacuse he made a 70 on perth does not make him a future great test player,He played well but his weakness were not tested ,we have to wait and see[/quote'] not saying he'll be a 50+ demon but i can safely say he won't avg below 40 either.
rkt.india Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 yes but most surfaces he'll play on will be easier than this. Its consistency which he will have to maintain throughout his career.

Juts because he scored well in a test ,Next test if he flops same people will be calling for his head,My point is he is a good talent but he will get better if persisted but we have to see how he performs over 15 -20 tests to judge him.
punjabi_khota Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Fineleg just died a little inside. k&*( punt, as they say in delhi.
master22 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: ' date='This is the Indian way of making our selves feel better after we lost .[/quote'] I just told virat will avg 45+ and pujara 50+ its just a prediction:--D who knows they might turn out to be the next kambli like rohit.
Cricket Tragic Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Looked pretty good imo. The important thing is that he showed improvement in both innings of this test. He left the ball pretty well and tried to play straight. Long way to and plenty of areas of work on but you're not going to be the finished article at 23. I was really hoping that he'd get a hundred - that would have given him a lot of confidence. Fecking Indian tail.
deathmonger Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I just told virat will avg 45+ and pujara 50+ its just a prediction:--D who knows they might turn out to be the next kambli like rohit. kambli was a ftb and couldn't play short ball. all centuries in sc. virat has scored in difficult conditions against a good lineup.

Dhonuts Dhoni Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Hasn't arrived just yet, but will be a good player. Solid technique.
deathmonger Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Kambli does have a 50+ average in Tests :winky: 100+ first season. 20 something next 2 seasons.
Cricket Tragic Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 ashwin shoud have been there. would have hung out for 25-30 runs. Ashwin should have been picked regardless. You don't pick a bowler just for the sake of it. It's like visiting team picking mediocre spinners in India.
jusarrived Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 and everyone here wanted him droped haha .
sarcastic Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I just told virat will avg 45+ and pujara 50+ its just a prediction:--D who knows they might turn out to be the next kambli like rohit. So you have already decided that Rohit is the next Kambli. Can you pls let us know your expert analysis by which you arrived at such a masterly conclusion?
express bowling Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Ashwin should have been picked regardless. You don't pick a bowler just for the sake of it. It's like visiting team picking mediocre spinners in India.[/QUOTE] Very true. Somebody once told the legendary Clive Lloyd that he won test series consistently because he had 4 fast bowlers which the other teams lacked. Lloyd replied with a smile that he won because he had 4 very very good fast bowlers. If I were the captain of India, I would have been tempted to play 4 pacers in Perth if I had someone like PK insted of VK. But VK is no replacement for Ashwin.
express bowling Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I am happy for Kohli. The fact that he suceeded in Perth, and was getting a lot of time to play the Aus pacers on a fast track, is a very big plus. This performance will surely give him the confidence that he lacked while playing tests. He is a good batsman but lacked the confidence and minset to play tests. Now he will develop that. He is hooking and pulling very well in this series also, another big plus.
MCcricket Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Sehwag,Gambhir, Rohit, Pujara, Virat, Mukund, Murali,Jaggi, Rahane , Umesh, Varun, Irfan,Tyagi, Gony , Dinda,Kaul , N Ojha,R Sharma, Ashwin,Jadeja, Ojha should form the core as this will be a mix of experience and potential.Raina, Tiwary seem weak against shorter deliveries and they can work on that.Among wildcards, R Shukla, Pawan Suyal, Anwar Ahmed, Abu Nechim , Shami,Rayudu, Manish Pandey, other promising players should be groomed thru A tours.
