They lost to the Kiwis not too long ago, were bundled out for 47 but here they are thrashing the daylights out of our test side. Does it mean all their issues of recent times have been overcome? Can they continue to do well, especially with the ball outside Australia as well? TBH, given how we have played in Eng and here and even against a weak WI side in WI or at home, we have become a pathetic test side led by a passive skipper post the WC. Don't think how teams play against us can be any good measure of their strength.

Since they lost to kiwis of all teams, I'd say we are **** and they are just meh.

Number Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Aussie bowling have certainly been better against us. Siddle and Hilfy have bowled extremely well. but Batting is still an issue for them.

youngindia Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 the aussies have some youngsters. the youngsters will blow hot and cold... they will take time settle down as i already mentioned. They are highly reliant on their senior pros clarke,hussey and ponting when push comes to shove.Hussey and ponting in good form changes things quite a bit.In the last few years ponting and hussey to a lesser extent have gone awol.clarke had a terrible dip last year. The future of their bowling is bright with cummins,pattinson and hazelwood.they have a variety of highly rated talents lined up. In australia , guys like ponting and lee are known in cricketing cricles from the time they are 12or 14. translation of talent into performances is ofcourse a different process. even in the aussie system,guys like matthew elliott,blewett have failed to realise full potential. if many of their highly rated youngsters realise their potential, their ride back to no 1 is a high probability right now it will be a bumpy,inconsistent ride as they have too many youngsters.

India just hasn't learned. Over-reliance on the seniors has done them in. Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid and Laxman are equally to blame. Folded in a pathetic manner under pressure

Folded in a pathetic manner under pressure Ponting and Hussey will not go on forever either. In fact going by how our seniors are playing, a bad run from these two could be around the corner as well. Do not think Aussies have the young batsmen to fill those boots too. Haddin is on his last legs, Marsh has gone off the boil after a dream debut in SL, Lyon doesn't look like someone who is a long term option either. And then there is the issue of their bowlers being equally effective on pitches that do not have much in it. Yes they have beaten us 3-0 (4-0 after next week) and its all looking rosy but tougher tests await them.
