cowboysfan Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Pujara should be no 3 .we need a cool responsible bat at 3 because our openers frankly have their head up their butts right now,a good no 3 is really vital to build a stable innings.

Dravid might have scored runs over the last two years, but he didn't play a single fluent innings during that period, always on the verge of getting out, in Australia his age finally gave way. The problem with the budhoas was they were looking for the series high to call it day (chasing dreams) but it never came. Save for Zaheer, the selectors or the players themselves should have retired themselves. Kumble was the perfect example of how to call it a day.

In 2008, the year he retired his stats read 10 tests, 28 wickets@51. About Pujara, he did play the test series in SA, was injured when we played vs WI and England and has only recently recovered. Am sure he would be back in the team very soon.

Am sure he would be back in the team very soon. Perfect example, he called it a day saving him further embarrassment, especially bhajji already becoming the lead spinner. How many more matches do they need?, it's been nearly now 15 straight matches of failures. Dravid and Laxman (and maybe Sehwag) should have known better regarding Mukund during the England series that he has got the aptitude to play test cricket. Yet none of them decided to retire out of their own selfishness. Mukund has been rotting away piling runs in Ranji, whilst the Sehwag, Dravid, and Laxman continue to play Gaddafi.

When the team was chosen for this tour, we all said this was our best chance to win a series in Australia and that we have picked the strongest possible team. But now that the batsmen have failed we are calling them selfish! If they had known of another 4-0, am sure they too would have loved to have called it quits earlier.

We may lose a match or two but it surely cant get worser than 8-0 and should be considered an initial investment for future dividends.

Need a young team led by a new captain with fresh ideas. My objection is to people saying RD and VVS should have quit before this series. RD looked in prime form and everyone said a series in Aus without VVS would be shooting ourselves in the foot.

But our selectors mentality is so gay. Dravid plays well in Tests and everyone else fails. Then they select Dravid for one dayers based on that. We have done that twice. Thankfull he has retired from ODIs. If they have decided to move on, just move on.

That's right, this was the best possible team that could go to australia barring one or two players. Blaming the selectors for the debacle is lame. But whether they(selectors) will make the right moves remains to be seen.

Became a huge fan when i first saw him against OZ's What a knock from this guy...test of true character. People might debate that west indies A bowling attack might not be potent as west indies attach itself is not upto the mark. If that is the case, then india A should not be in the position which they were in yesterday. Having siad that, conditions would be very challenging for batsmen in west indies. And to score 90+ runs in the second innings when pitch would have deteriorated and with your back against the wall with 28/4; needs some character. Someone said " A true test for a batsmen would be to see how he scroes in 4th innings in testing conditions" If the statement is right, then pujara is miles ahead of other probables ( May it be even Rohit). Pujara might not match Rohit in flamboyance, style and aggression. But Test cricket might not need all of that. What it requires is Patience, perservarance and gutsy nature, ofcourse needless to say battting skills. This guy is ready.....whats say? Lot of runs under his belt in domestic circuit.....Unlike others, also scores runs in alien condtions which he proved time and again when played for India A.....what else he has to do to become a regular member for India????? well....answer would be ..."stay fit"
