Will be nice to know sine a lot of ICFers travel/visit/stay in US. Here is my list: 1) Taj in Ashland, Oregod. Never in my wildest dreams did I thought, that I would test one of the best Indian foods in US, in a small Southern Oregon Town. 2) Bombay Bozar (I think), Washington DC : Upscale and a little price, but good food. 3) Bombay Brazairre ? , Houston, TX : Aweome surrounding and food. Chicken is really good. 4) Mehfil, Kansas City, KS. : Drove 3-4 Hours to eat there. Keep the list going.

You would be surprised that food at many of the Indian restaurants in the US actually tastes better than many in India For example the Mysore Masala Dosa I had at the MTR (Mavalli Tiffin House) in Bangalore, which is supposedly an authentic joint, was quite ordinary. On the other hand, the MMD I get at various South Indian restaurants in the SF bay area are worth the 6-7 dollars I end up shelling out. Same with many of the Indian Buffet here as well. Some of the better ones are at Passage to India in Mountain View, Bombay Garden in San Mateo and Sneha in Sunnyvale. Yes, they do dial down the chilli level, but taste wise I feel that they are authentic Indian still.

We were once stuck in snow in Vermont and this little town has the most amazing Paneer Pasanda I have ever had. Speaking of Houston, Mayuri is pretty decent. Phoenix has Kabob Palace and Tandoori Times that I would recommend.

The objective is to share. Not to decide. Stop looking at every thread as "the best", "statistically superior" or "you vs me battel". Eg: If I go to Pheonix, I will definately visit that Kabob place that Lurker suggested.

Bombay Brazaire in Rice Village is good. I also tried Mirchi. It was good too.

The food in India is far far better than anything we get here. The MMD you get in BA is not the real stuff, but you like it because it is appealing to local folk and people like you.
