Cos he is God' date=' they are just his disciples. [b'] In the same way Jesus died for us, so will SRT when the time is right, but its not for us to decide.
:haha: good one. Will SRT go the same way as JC ? We have already found our Judas in Gambhir.:haha:

Your relationship with God is a personal one' date=' he is within all of us but some of us due to our conditioning dont connect with him in this life (which is fine). [b']Nevertheless its not right to question someone elses beliefs.
Getting your beliefs challenged is the best thing since sachin's 100th century.

Nobody is denying that SRT was the greatest thing to happen since sliced bread but his detractors are simply saying that maybe his time at the top is up and he should retire. By the way failing 8 away tests in a row and walking into odis just to get 100th 100 are justifiable reasons for criticizing him. After all if Dravid and Laxman's place in the side can be questioned then why not SRT's?
Which would have all been fine if the criticism was limited to his performances. You are the prime example of the wrong kind of criticism. Its people like you who constantly place him above Dravid and Laxman, not Sachin fans. I will tell you how. Any failure of Sachin is attributed to people like you to reasons other than cricketing. So while Laxman, Dravid and Sehwag can be in bad form, Sachin's failure can only be because of his quest for 100th 100. There is no other reason he can fail. Sehwag can look good and throw his wicket away, but if Sachin does, it has to be because of his 100 according to people like you So remember, its people like you who put him above Laxman and dravid by attaching motives to his cricketing action. You never ever criticize him for his bad form or rash shots. You criticize him for his motives and pervcieved selfishness. If thats not hypocrisy, then i dont know what is Alos the things about ODIs is a complete lie. He never retired from ODIs. He always plays ODIs in important series away from home. He played in south africa. Only reaosn he didnt play in england was he needed rest. Even 2 years ago, before the 100th 100 was in picture, it was always taken for granted that he will play ODIs against australia, his favourite team. But to attribute even such an obvious reason to Sachin's quest for his 100 shows the dishonest and hidden agenda of so called Sachin critics. Its time for people like you to do some soul searching and find the real reason for all your posts against Sachin. Look at some of the posts youu have made even before the aussie series and tell me how they are not ridiculous and biased I have no problem with people like Lurker and Outsider who have genuine points and strong opinions though I might not agree with them

All those sachin lovers tell you one thing, sachin has shown how selfish player he has been. He's just playing for his hundred. He has got over 18000 runs in ODI's, over 10000 runs in tests..he's old as well, won the world cup but still he continues playing..what for??? Now he's getting ridiculed all over because neither he's getting his 100th century nor India is winning. People will not remember him now winning the world cup, infact he will be remembered as a guy who played 70 odd matches for his 100th 100 making him sound one of the selfish players to play the game. Lets get a youngster in and win some games in future when we play away.

Clearly Sachin and we all thought before these two imprtant series that Sachin was a must and in good form. Just because someone failed, in hindsight you cannot go on making baseless assumptions. Sachin thought and still does that the team needed him and he has still got it in him and thats the only reason he continued playing. If he had retired after WC just for the sake of retiring on a high(like Lara did) and left his team high and dry, then he would have been criticized for being selfish and rightly so As you said, he doesnt have much to continue for, so he is continuing for the team and the love of cricket and not anything else. He would have done the same if the 100th 100 was not in the picture

An evidence of truth value of these theories about 100th 100 playing on mind. It was in 4th test I guess, Ganguly told this brief chat he had with SRT - after SRT 'choked' against Clarke in Sydney test. SG - "Why you were giving so much respect to Clarke." (especially being so close to 100 and Clarke being a nobody) SRT - "There was a strong breeze flowing from the end Clarke was bowling. And I was not sure that I will clear the infield / control the air-borne shot. So I decided to play him defensively." And if anyone watched that ball from Clarke that got him out. It pitched exactly at the same spot, and same line - as the previous one - only difference was , it turned about 5 degrees or so - just about enough to catch the edge of SRT's bat. But but but, it was clear to us - 100 was playing on his mind.

Wow! So not only does he choke, he also makes excuses :doh: Dude you are a top class player now intp 25 year of cricket, if you know whats the scenario deal with it. Quit justifying your failure.

Actually I disagree about media scrutiny. It is as bad or worse with SRT than Sunny simply because media is more prevalant and more edgy these days. But I agree with you that he cannot have it both ways. Indian idolize sports heros when things are going great so one should be willing to get criticized when down. He deserves all the criticism he is getting.
Thats the natural progression. Even a Virat Kohli of today faces more media scrutiny than Sachin did when Sachin was Virat's age. There is nothing new here.

I am not attributing his failures to anything. All I'm saying is he hasn't done anything of note in the last 8 away tests where we went 0-8 and at the age of 39 it's time Sachin retires as it's not as if we are wnning with him, and we may as well fail with youngsters who at least have age on their side and give us a promise of a bright future. Same with Dravid and Laxman. It's not as if I'm saying drop SRT but keep Dravid and Laxman. In fact the first one to go should be Laxman followed by Dravid and at max SRT can be around till later this year against Eng to smoothen the transition. As for the 100th 100 issue, that criticism is levelled at SRT for sitting out of odis for a year and then suddenly decide to play odis after failing in Tests. To me, and others, it definitely comes out as SRT didn't get the 100 in Tests and decided to play odis to reach the elusive milestone. Again, I could be wrong but that's my perception seeing SRT play odis all of a sudden after deciding odis for nearly a year. As for reasons of my posts isn't selectively deciding which odis to play, i.e. picking and choosing the matches, preferring IPL over country by "deciding" is reason enough? Is it wrong to ask a player who's 39 and failed over the last 2 away tours where we went 0-8 to reture so that a youngster can be brought in? Maybe you would want to see SRT play till he's 50 but I would prefer a stronger Indian team than a team with 40 year olds who anyway are not performing.

MTC, Can we make it rather simple. Instead of defending Sachin, and asking for a blank check, can you give me some concrete numbers on WHEN Sachin should retire? I would take any solid numbers. Say play another 20 Tests@45 runs, or 20 LOI@40 runs or 4 more Test series averaging 45 runs. Anything like that. What peeves me is when I see educated posters like you constantly defending SRT and asking for what I perceive as a blank check to let him go forever. Instead of having a go at the critics maybe you can show what your roadmap is for SRT? Fair? xxx

There is no road map,Its up to sachin when he decides his time is up and we should trust him with that .But with another poor series push will come from ext sources.
