MCcricket Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT iSHANTS POTENTIAL, also he needs to be more consistent with his line and length,there is a fine line between being a unlucky bowler who bowls well and doesn't get wickets, even Srenath had a similar problem and a bowler who bowls well and is always threatening in all conditions, and to me that is about the ability to read conditions and batsmen and also the control to bowl the right deliveries.I feel Ishant needs to play county cricket , bowling day in and day out, different conditions, will boost his abilities and help him develop as a bowler and let him go to the next level and this is not about fitness.

Actually Ishant looks like a perennial to$$er, with that long hair such a thin frame as if all he does is sh@& all the time. I wonder how fast he might bowl if he was not such.. I remember some older generation gun cricketer telling him that he should build muscles, this guy came to the media and mouthed him off..bit of a bad attitude i must say, stubborn. Having said all that he is still our second fastest bowler..:(( beggers cant be choosers.

An average of 37 after 45 Tests is appalling - guy can't bat or field so brings nothing else to the team either.

Unlucky is if you have 10 Kamran Akmals on your team, not if you are missing outside edges. Ishant has time but he must assess his approach and technical aspects of his bowling.

After bowling every good bowl, he looks around for some sympathy from the colleagues that he didn't get the wicket. Instead of showing sympathy towards him, he should be told that he just needs to focus on completing the task, no-matter how he completes it and for that even if he has to work 100 times harder.

I also would have won the Wimbledon and made 500 runs in a test innings, but I was unlucky. So please do not discard me. Keep me in for a long time. More seriously, a guy is unlucky only for a short time. By the law of averages/statistics things should work out given enough chances. Since it has not worked out, it is safe to imagine, Ishant is an incompetent idiot, he can not think on basics, as to where and what line and length to ball. Wasim Akram says he talked to Ishant 2 years ago and he has not listened. Says a lot about the loser.
