I have a feeling, he will be India's Ponting, has a similar attitude, excellent fitness, is a very good fielder and mentally strong. Hope he continues playing like this.

Having said that there is a huge difference in the initial movement of both the players though. Ponting predominantly has an initial forward press whereas Virat has an initial backward movement, but despite that both have a similar technical flaw early in the innings, at least that's what I noticed in the tests. They both tend to play across the line closing the face of the bat.
