Prakat Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 U_G one of the reason people (and me) avoid replying to your post is because you dont deserve a logical reply. You clearly didnt see anything wrong in Ponka's post questioning the integrity of a 20 year old career and went about claiming that his whole career is selfishness and for himself. And then you talk about logic and debate? From the beginning of the Australia tour you have just been baiting Sachin, talking about his integrity, his honesty and everything else un-related to cricket. You have been behaving like a child who cannot handle his favorite team being defeated and has to lash out at any target. A child whose toy is broken will even hit or scream at his parents becuase he doesnt know how to behave in a dignified way, he doesnt know how to handle defeats and disappointment Yes, India is going through one of its worst places and Sachin has over-stayed his usefullness. But thats it. Its not because the world is against you, its not because Sachin is a decietful person, not because Dravid is a moron, etc. grow up a bit. I have been purposely avoiding your posts and other Sachin's threads. Once the bitterness of defeat subsidises, after 2 years you, yourself will look back at your posts and wonder what happened to make you type these things, but the posts will remain for everyone to see top response. :nice:

akshayxyz Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 if last two posts of MTC imparts some sense even in 1% of fair-weather-ers.. its purpose is served.
Marut Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Tendulkar slows down to reach his century? That must be a joke, and his career SR of 85+ means that he is one of the fastest scoring openers with a high average. Having said that, Tendulkar is no God and does choke often, and I lost count of how many times I expected Sachin to come up with that match saving knock in the fourth innings and be disapponted to see Sachin, Dravid et al walk in a procession without the fight. India 97/4 in the second innings and need to bat out day five. Can we expect Sachin to do this? Not really, he fails much more often than he succeeds in such situations.
Old guy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 problem is even his form is bad right now.. and odi him playing does not makes any sense at all im all for him playing another year or two in tests if he can perform cos people would benefit but this series it just looks ugly now sachin does not deserves this. we all were laughing at ponting tell me how this is any different ? and no not every one who criticizes sachin is a bad person or some one who is struggling to have a life..thisis team game yes we respect what he did but honestly he is not contributing enough to stay in team and has no real future in odis so i will criticize him for this.. not for not getting his so called 100..!
adi B Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 ponka sir, ur a legend :hatsoff: ponka ponka ponka oi oi oi
Sachin=GOD Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I believe now. Ponka is Vaibhav_Delhi. Can't be. If he was V_D then he certainly would have replied to some of my posts in some other threads. He can't resist it :giggle:
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Dont hate the messenger' date=' hate the message.[/quote'] But you cant read the message, is education that bad in Aus? Or has the konvict mentality remained? ---------- IPL, really? And a 66 ball 100 by a 38 year old man who isn't a hard hitter as Viru or Dhoni..and so on. What's wrong about that match? Isn't a S/R of 150..a really good S/R in T20? ------- point proven

Once the bitterness of defeat subsidises, after 2 years you, yourself will look back at your posts and wonder what happened to make you type these things, but the posts will remain for everyone to see Pls show me an instance where I have agreed with Ponka. I don't and just as I don't respond to every post I don't agree with (along with many others) doesn't mean I agree with him. As I mentioned in one of my posts in another thread (probably regarding Sachin's presence in the odi team), I used to admire him a lot and he used to be my favorite cricketer in 90s but to me Indian cricket comes first. Yes I am disappointed at the 0-8 debacle as any Indian fan should be but what has p*ssed me off are three things :- 1. No changes made in the change even after 0-4 and then going 0-2 in Aus. Once we were down 0-2 in Aus it made no sense to go with the 3 seniors and at the very least Laxman and Dravid should have been dropped to give Rohit and Rahane a chance in the last two tests. I don't blame Sachin alone for the debacle and the team selection but I did criticize him for his performances just like most members of the Indian team. 2. Lack of accountability or responsibility from selectors and senior players - VVS, Dravid and SRT know fully well they won't be dropped by Indian selectors, and majority of the blame goes to the board and selectors which has been discussed in detail in various threads and posts. But I would have hoped that the senior players would see the sense in retiring at age of 40 instead of continuing since India doesn't travel for the next 2 years, but what I've seen or heard so far (VVS, Dravid making no retirement calls after the Test series and SRT playing in Asia Cup) leads me to believe that all the 3 seniors intend to play at home for the next 2 years and leave India in a wors position, if possible, when the team goes on an away tour in 2013. IMO every Indian fan should raise their concerns as it will be 0-8 again in 2 years if the seniors don't make way for youngsters now. Am I not correct in questioning the sense of responsibility of the Indian seniors towards the team? As I said most of the blame goes at selectors and board's feet but surely the 3 seniors should have some sense of responsibility as well. 3. Picking and choosing games (odis) - This is the main item I don't agree with and have criticized Sachin for. In fact that's why I started the thread "WHy SRT is in odi team?" and haven't created any other threads regarding SRT. To me a player picking and choosing games, and putting himself above the game and team deserves to be called out. SRT missed 3 or 4 odi series before deciding to play the tri-series, and is now playing even Asia Cup :omg: What for? He won the world cup, is 39 and his performance level is going down. So why is he still playing odis selectively? To me it looks as if he's doing so coz he wasn't able to reach the 100th 100 and is now playing odis to reach the landmark. Sorry but that's how I see it. To you and other Sachin fans it may not be such a big deal but to me the team is disrupted every time he walks into the team and then out. He sits out 3 series and when the team has decided its best combination, he suddenly decides to play a series and the team combination simply goes out the window. Now everyone needs to bat at a different place and it's as if it's a new team. Why should we continue to witness such a scenario when someone treats the team as his personal fiefdom? Would Aussies have allowed Ponting to pick and choose the odi series/games he wanted to play? If Ponting had tried to do so he would have been kicked out of the team long ago. As I mentioned earlier, SRT was is one of the ATG and I would put him in the top 3 India has produced after Kapil and Gavaskar, but for me the team comes first and currently he's harming the team and not helping as I mentioned in item #3. To me he has no future in odis, and in Tests he should go by end of this year at max to give the team to rebuild before they start touring away in 2 years' time.

I think thats a problem in itself. For 2 reasons: a) Why would you, or anybody else for that matter, have to PROVE that at one time they were supportive of Sachin?? There is no reason one has to prove his allegiance towards Sachin in order to be being rightfully critical of him today. b) Does it really matter if you were supportive of him at one time? Not that SRT's chelas would start listening to you after that clarification. For them either you consider him the greatest player on planet today, or it does not matter. The funny thing is almost half of the criticism that Sachin gets is due to its so called fans. If only they would be willing to concede Sachin is like every other player today, should be dropped for his poor performance, does not get a lifeline because of past glories etc etc. his critics would perhaps be more symathetic to him

If only they would be willing to concede Sachin is like every other player today, should be dropped for his poor performance, does not get a lifeline because of past glories etc etc. his critics would perhaps be more symathetic to him Coz out here it's a "shoot the messenger" mentality. In fact in one of the threads I was termed a Paki :hysterical: Anyone who has seen my posts/threads over the time since I have been on this forum would know where I stand regarding the accusation. Just because I picked Indian team over SRT seems to be the bone of contention for me. To me a strong Indian team, and good performances by the team is all that matters. Sure SRT helped in doing so over the years but his time is done and I don't agree with the fact that we have to carry him coz "he has done so much for India over the years". My response to that is that he is a professional sportsperson and he didn't do anyone any favors. He was paid for those wins and he's one of the richest and most popular persons in India, and across the world, because of the same. Indian cricket and team doesn't owe him anything. Would a company where you worked for 20 years still keep you when you become redundant or a liability just because you were loyal and in the organization for 20 years? I don't think so and I am applying the same logic with SRT. By the way even Laxman and Dravid's time is up but somehow people don't have any problems with that part, but if someone says anything about SRT all hell breaks loose. At the end it's pretty simple - I don't want to go through the 0-8 humiliation. EVER. But to me we are heading the same route if SRT and other seniors continue to play at home another 2 years before the away series. Is it too wrong to wish well of a team which you support or it's ok for people to endure another 0-8 as long as SRT is in the team?
zen Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 as expected the usual complains and weeps from some of the srt bhakts :giggle:

Laaloo Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Show me one Sachin fan who claimed personal records come before national interest? BossBhai would simply take the 100th 100 even if we would have gotten whitewashed 4-0 simply because India is "used" to it.

Once the bitterness of defeat subsidises, after 2 years you, yourself will look back at your posts and wonder what happened to make you type these things, but the posts will remain for everyone to see You are sounding like being in love MTC. And like most love affairs, once a person experiences a heartbreak there are generally two after-effects. One you have already lined out. The second is that post-breakup once the ishq ka dhoondh clears up, you are able to look at your muse in a more realistic manner. Put it this way, say in 2012 Sachin retires. And say in 2015 (or 2020) you are asked by a younger fan to rate the class of 90s and 2000s Indian team. Most likely you will have Sachin as the gold standard, a rating of 10. And most likely Dravid and Kumble will come close at 9? And maybe VVS, Sehwag, Srinath and Ganguly would be between 8-9 say? How would you be able to rate 6 players between 8 and 10 and claim, what is generally claimed, that India in 90s and 2000s was often a one-man band?? Maybe then you, and folks like you, may start thinking rationally and give due to Dravids and Kumbles perhaps? Maybe then I can see you write articles countering "What have we done to deserve Sachin?" with a"What did we do to deserve a Kumble, the man who won more test for India than anybody else??". Maybe then you will be able to break off your muse and enjoy the success of the team, and the top players within the team??? Post Sachin era may see Sachin critics miss him. Yes. But even his fans will look back and accept him for what he was - A great player, but a player nonethelss who had ample faults..like evryone else. xxx
Lurker Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 BossBhai would simply take the 100th 100 even if we would have gotten whitewashed 4-0 simply because India is "used" to it. :haha: Well he must be happy, now that he got atleast 50% of his wish come true:winky:
