At Sharjah, when Md. Azharudin went past Haynes 8000 odd runs in ODIs to have the highest runs in ODIs, Ravi Shastri, iirc, was all pumped up and asked Azhar on what he felt about the record. Azhar, being cool as usual, replied (the essense): 'It would have been a record if I had scored those runs in less or in as many innings as Haynes. If you play more innings, you will get more runs." Rest of your blah blah stuff is what is known as srt bhakti :winky:
oh ok so thats what I am saying more inning more run but somehow it leads you to lesser average and SR, right? but in case of SRT its not the case ODI Avg 44 and SR of more than 88 from last 22 years. And now you are comparing him with Azhar. Please come up with some more I want to see in the path of hating someone how low can you get.

In ODIs, I would probably rate SRT at #2 after Viv I used Azhar as an example to show my point (mainly for tests), but as usual a bhakt took it as Azhar vs SRT :hysterical:

I sometimes wonder till the time these guys are playing we are the first to throw shoes on them but as soon as they retire each and every words these Ganguly, Azhar, Kapil say or have said becomes gurumantra. Ten years down the line you will be the first giving example of Sachin to some new bie as to see under this scenario what great Sachin has said but till the time he is playing even saying a single word of appreciation to the players will hurt your ego. And since you are more focussed on Test, tell me a single player having average of more than 50 for last 22 years. In ODI an average of 45 for more than 22 years arey leave it even was among top 3 scorer in IPL also from last two years. Aise bande ko genius kahte hain. You talk of one inning of Lara and Laxman, I can write a book on SRT innings from hitting Marshal and Hadlee to Steyn and Akhtar.

SRT is a guru. Who said he isnt? some of those are amongst the dumbest criterias that no one cares for. You are free to write a book. I am sure it would be well appreciated by the bhakts :haha:

taking about antar-rashtraiya matches, srt would also have the record for most antar-rashtraiya matches and that probably makes him the most antar-rashtraiya cricketer ever to have walked on the planet (beat that!) :two_thumbs_up: PS and probably the cricketer with the most frequent flyer miles :P

The milestones are in news because they are achieving Tendulkar - not all milestones get the honor.

Viv for the legend of the game he is....If you look at all formats than debatable but if you look at ODI's SRT is miles ahead of Viv not only in terms of runs and other records but just as an Impact player. Sorry to say this but I would rate Haynes ahead of Richards in ODI's Sure this has bought up a million times before but hey.....Always patient enough to correct mistakes:--D

The GPS in your brain calculated that SRT is miles ahead but did it tell you by how many? Is the distance the same as one b/w NY and LA?

These groupies unfortunately make this legend look smaller , these fans are jingoistic fans who don't care for cricket but same kind who built a temple for Rajnikant lol , make Indians look stupid .When u talk about other fantastic players who have played for India , they try to be little everyone at his cost , so very against what THE MAN stands for. I haven't seen him looking so ordinary ever since he had the elbow problem and the next 3 years after that, these guys looking at the stupid records 100th 100 10000 fours are incredulous or maybe just trolling lol, and we saw Clarke declare when he had Don's record and who knows Lara's for the taking, records mean nothing or atleast stupid one's like these, they are just manifestation of someone who played cricket for more then 2 decades. What if Dravid, Lara, Ponting had made their debut at 16?.Tendulkar's genius is not the numbers , it is his game, he can play all the strokes in the book and more, his game can adapt to any condition, pitch , opposition, on his day he is unbeatable, huge hunger, appetite, fitness, perfect balance, technique, fantastic human being. But his fans should also agree , Lara was more fun to watch with his left handers elegance, flowing drives, follow through,Viv was more devastating and ruthless, Ponting was a better puller and hooker of a cricket ball .VVS is a once in life time player with the strokes only he could play, Sehwag is the most devastating test batsmen there has ever been, Dravid is a batsmen I would like to bat for my life.
