Ghantaaa. Dhoni won a ODI WC, Lady Jaya lost the finals Dhoni won the world t20, Lady Jaya lost in the finals. Dhoni won a CB series in Aus, Lady Jaya lost in the finals. Maybe Chappel meant to write Dhoni succeeds where Lady Jaya fails.
he is taking about Captainship of Mahela vs Dhoni in Current form .

The Chappels are just a pair of bitter anti indian idiots.
he is and will remain like that ,but our recent performances doesn't refute what is said above .

We were not in a comfortable position when he came in. As good as Yuvi was looking in the whole tournament , he has very poor record chasing under lights in SC against spinners. So , It was a good decision by him. Though he should be criticized for his captaincy in CB series. It was indeed bad.
That was secondary point in my post. Primary point was, why he is given credit for winning WC when he turned up in just one match (I admit he played good enough innings)? If captaincy is such crucial things, then he should be the first one to take responsibility for two most disastrous overseas tours.

Is that why he is talking about Indian culture? culture depends on current form, does it?

lol the typical indian mindset which will only help your cricket rot in the same place. did you even read the article and tried to understand what chappel is trying to say?
have to agree...lady jaya is a far more illustrious nd vocal captain, he captains very well with the limited resource available to him, very energetic

This is now case of these so called cultural experts to get them all their irritating anti-Indian grievances out in the dhobi ghat, before India begin their upward hiatus during their upcoming long home spell. These guys have been mummed for the last 4-5 years and the last 10 months was a wet dream for them. PS: The same Sri Lankans (Jaya,Sanga, Malinga, Dilshan, and many more) who performed in CB series with backpay held are same ones earnings millions in the IPL. So this cultural thing of money and motivation is bullsh!t. India have been crap because of ridiclous horrendous form and sh!t-sighted selection. But other that, I agree with Ian Chapel, lack of on-field leadership from Dhoni and the other seniors was bordering on cop-out.

But if Jayawardene is so good and so much better than Dhoni how come Dhoni has managed to win T20 Cup, World Cup and reach Test #1 spot whereas Lankan Loins haven't managed to do anything of note under Jayawardene other than lose in the finals :dontknow:

Dhoni' Team beat Lady Jaya's team more than he did in the CB series. Wasn't his captaincy criticized before making Sanga the skipper? His bowlers and top order performed fine while our failed. Why blame MSD for that? It was Dhoni's team which beat them 4-1 when he was the captain. Chappel would criticize India whenever he gets the chance. Both Buddha Chappel brothers have to get a life!

Its funny how quickly Chappel switches sides and makes these sweeping statements. Most of his comments are way over the top and almost all his predictions go wrong. Not a bad record for a cricket pundit

so why Dhoni was given credit when Sachin/Sehwag/Raina/were hitting tons or runs and Zaheer was running amok in opposition batting orders? Why Dhoni is given credit for WC win when he just turned up in one match' date=' that too when we were already in relatively comfortable position?[/quote'] I can't answer for others, he wasn't the superstar i adored day & night. My guess is the media & the masses need a hero to worship when things are going good and a scapegoat when they aren't. Do you disagree with my assertion that our batting failures could not be compensated by certain tactical moves here & here ?

Coz he was the captain who delivered the cup and ultimately it's the captain who gets slated or gets praised depending on the results. Also, Dhoni showed up in one match but that was the biggest match India played since the WC 2003 final and if he had failed that day India probably wouldn't have won the WC. Dhoni should get every credit he gets for playing that innings and for winning the cup with such limited bowling resources where other than Zak we had no wkt takers.

i accept that SL has been a below par team in the post WC era, no denying that. there were a number of reasons contributing to that fact, but now we see a clear change happening. and mahela's captaincy has a large say in that. and for your facts, the problem is you're ignoring the elephant in the room. mahela never captained SL in a t20 WC final btw...
Worry about your own "elephant in your room". Your sorry team even lost home series to Australia and couldn't beat the **** West Indies team in a Test series at home. 2-3 Test wins in the last 2 years, World Cup final loss to India and you have the nerve to lecture us. Maybe Ian Chappell should be asked what it is about your Sri Lankan culture that you guys have been so **** in Test matches for the last few years?

We have the nerve coz our team actually manages to win the games that matter, i.e. finals, know how to win at home, and actually managed to reach the pinnacle in Tests. But the Lankan "Loins" haven't done jack shyt over their history other than lose matches that matter :haha:

:hysterical:, This is so easy. Remind me again, when did Lanka last win a Test in Australia?,hell, when has Sri Lanka ever won a Test vs Australia? Never, a big poopy never!. :giggle:
