Zelig Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Both were great. Today's knock by Virat is special considering that it was against Padosis and the Indian team is "weaker" compared to how we were back then. But both are special knocks. http://cdn.royalchallengers.com/photos_new/uploads/large/virat-kohli-15.jpg You can't be serious :headshake:
adi B Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 tbh kohli`s innings 2day was far more classy, important nd against a quality bowling... but purely on entertaining point of view, it would be dhoni bcoz of those sixes
zaheer Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Didnt watch that innings.. i was in the passport office that day and was following it on radio.. So ill pick this one!!
Sid Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 OP stop making these comparison threads, every odd week
Laaloo Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Not related but Dada also hit a 183 vs the Lankans and became the Indian skipper within an year of that :) Interesting tweet here: "@Vivek_Chandra: Ganguly:183 in 1999. Captain:2000 * Dhoni:183 in 2005. Captain: 2007 * Kohli:183 in 2012. Captain: Very Soon?"
Number Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dhoni's 183 wasn't even his best knock. Kohli's knock will be rated a league above IMO.
Zelig Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Going by the symmetry, Kohls will have to wait until 2015 to become the cappo :om:
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Kohleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all the way
Sid Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Interesting tweet here: "@Vivek_Chandra: Ganguly:183 in 1999. Captain:2000 * Dhoni:183 in 2005. Captain: 2007 * Kohli:183 in 2012. Captain: Very Soon?" :woot:
adi B Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 misbah should remain pak captain 4ever only bcoz of that shot he played off the last ball of the innings
Dravid_TheWall Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dhoni's 183* I thought was more entertaining and daring. Faced good bowlers too. Kohli's was more clinical.
akshayxyz Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dhoni's was daring.. never seen before kind. Kohli's was clinical, effortless.., never broke a sweat any time during the innings.
Vijy Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Both were exceptional knocks... Dhoni's was more brutal and his knock made up a greater % of the total, but Kohli's came against the higher target.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Why do we have to compare? both are equally good + most will say today's knock cuz its fresh in mind. This.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dhoni. This was great' date=' but that was something else.[/quote'] +1. Dhoni's was more explosive, BUT this was crucial and higher pressure.
tatters Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Depends on whether you like baseball or cricket. Dhoni, cross-batted garbage over cow-corner. Kohli, a fine cricketing innings. As I'm a cricket fan, I liked the latter more.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Hmm chasing 295 against "The Murali" isnt that easy. Also this was 5-6 years ago. Those scores were chaseable but not that easy those days. that was at the beginning of a record breaking sequence of 18 chases in a row by the indian cricket team :hatsoff:
Zero_Unit Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I still would rate DHONI's knock much more entertaning. For some reason Kholi's 183 looked like a calm innings where as Dhoni's was just brutal murder of the ball
