At least we made some progress in the game against Pakistan and dropped Jadeja in favor of Yusuf. We don't any more proof that batting is our strength and our best bet to restrict the opposition is spinners with our pacers certain to neither pick wkts nor contain runs. With that thought in mind I would have just 2 pacers in irfan & Vinay and bring in Rahul Sharma who along with Ashwin and other part-timers like Yusuf, Rohit and Raina will at least be better than our pacers who can neither bat, filed or take wkts. Thus, my team for the final in case we get there would be... Tendulkar Gambhir Kohli Rohit Raina Dhoni Yusuf Irfan Ashwin Vinay Rahul Sharma We bat all the way down to 9 with Yusuf & Irfan adding serious firepower down the order, and at least Rahul & Ashwin give us the best bet to reign in opposition during the middle overs.

He's a spinner and not a pacer who needs to get his rhythm right. plus he did get a couple of games in Aus. He should be in the team as I don't expect him to have worse figures than 2/50 and that would be better than any of our current bowlers.

screw the final man, one less game for them to play before the IPL is a better situation. if they do make it though, i would keep dinda in there. he bowled alright today. if somebody must go, it should be yusuf. yeah i know, he makes our batting look scary as **** when he is all the way down there at number 7 or 8 but we really dont need to justify his place by pointing to his mediocre batting when the other aspects of his game are so weak. at least jadeja was a stud fielder you cant be too spin heavy, they suck at bowling under lights here. tough to grip it and what not

As if our pacers are gonna blow the opposition with their pace under lights. Our strength is batting and to a lesser extent spin; let's go with the same as under light with dew factor our pacers are gonna bowl friendly full-tosses for 6s.

I want to see Rahul Sharma in the lineup but it would be a tough ask as its his first game of the tournament and a final to boot. If he does play, who is he going to replace ? Same is the case with Vinay Kumar. If he is fit, will he come back into the side ? Given the fragile form of the pacers, don't think MSD will risk going in with just 2 seamers. One of them has a bad game (which mst certainly will happen) and that would mean spinners bowling 35-36 overs! Given the way our batting has performed and with the top 6 looking in ominous touch, I would say drop Yusuf Pathan and pick Rahul Sharma. Bowling is our weakness and we should not go with just 4 bowlers. Sachin, Gambhir, Kohli, Rohit, Raina, MSD, Irfan, Ashwin, Rahul, Dinda, Vinay (if fit)/PK

India will go with 3 seamers.. if at all Rahul comes in that will be in place of Yusuf or Ashwin. Dhoni depends on Ashwin inside power play. Today he bowled 5 overs inside powerplay. I am also for including Rahul. But who would they drop. We have far too many offies. So a leggie would be ideal. But Yusuf may not be dropped.

well we certainly cant have that same bowling attack. rahul should have came in place of jaddu. but yousuf came insted. only thing we ever need from yousuf is 30-40 quick runs, think irfan and ashwin are more then capable of making that. but we need somebody to bowl 10 overs. saw some clips of rahul bowling to sachin in nets. dont know why he is not picked.

My XI for the finals:-Sachin,Gambhir,Kohli,Rohit,Raina,Dhoni,Yousuf,Irfan,Ashwin, Rahul,Dinda/Vinay.Praveen should be nowhere near the Indian ODI or T2O setup.

whatever bowling line we choose it wud suck as we have a very limited set of bowlers.. Its better have the same batting lineup with YP coming as no.6-7 wud be an added boost .. We can replace a seamer with a spinner that's it.

Munaf Patel has taken 4/16 in the Deodhar Trophy finals. Maybe we should send him to BD in case we are in the finals. Delhi to Dhaka would be a 2.5 hrs long flight and he could reach there well before the finals :)
