GautiMaan Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 irfan pathan,Rp Singh,Balaji,Munaf Patel,Sreesanth,Ishant Sharma are a few i can list who seemed to have great careers ahead but fell away after initial successes.Only Zaheer Khan has made any use of his talent in the last decade Following in their footsteps seem to be Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav and our bowling attack now is composed entirely of trundlers. There does'nt seem to be any dearth of bowlers in this country,im sure we have the best physios in the team and they have access to any advice they need,So i ask you why do our bowlers flatter to deceive ?

The list of bowlers..they are all of different abilities and you can't lump them together. All have had different issues. Some have always been crap, some are crippled by injury, some lost form, some put on weight, others were the victims of bullying by the captain and company.

Ultimate_Game Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Says a lot about BCCI and the academies we have NCA, MRF pace academy etc. that they can neither manage injuries to fast bowlers, nor help with technical issues and neither help us unearth bowling talent. The fact thry can't even help someone like Ishant or Zak when he had to go to county to turn his game around says a lot about the value of these academies.

I think it's because of the apathy of the BCCI,once a bowler is injured or out of form,he's forgotten about.Player management has never been an issue for our board.

Dude I am in no way supporting some oftthose guys who wasted their potential...All I am saying is there have been many bowlers all over the world who meet that criteria. If this was a thread about why most Indian bowlers flatter to deceive that would be altogether a different topic...but all I listed was few bowlers who made good starts but then threw it all away or just lost the it factor they had in the beginning. Since it looks like this thread is going in direction of Indian bowlers then I will say Ishanth and Sreeshanth.
maniac Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Ishanth Sharma....the guy had or infact still has the pace and bounce to be a top class bowler but still sucks...way too wayward and inconsistent and probably the only guy who still has something left in the tank. Slowly giving up on Sreeshanth :( and already given up on all the others mentioned

Not to forget for him and the clown sreesanth. most tests were played overseas in good bowling conditions, and yet their averages suck. :facepalm:
