Magneto Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Iframe: Open in new window The famous CK Nayudu played this match at the age of 61, alongside his brother CS Nayudu and son CN Nayudu. :hysterical: Still no match for Raja Sir Maharaj Singh who captained the Bombay Governor's XI against a touring Commonwealth XI at the age of 72 in 1950. Coming in to bat at No.9, he edged Jim Laker for 3 and one run later, was caught at first slip off the same bowler. He took no part in the game after the first day and Maharaja of Patiala captained the side in his absence. Laker was 44 years younger than the man he dismissed. And losers like Martin Crowe try to make a club level comeback at the age of 48 and get retired hurt after 3 deliveries. :giggle: Raja Sir Maharaj Singh was the real rockstar. :hysterical:
Magneto Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 1 more record for sachin to break .. may be he will play in 2035 world cup too along with his son I think Sachin will play IPL with his son in another 3-4 years. Both of them can play the 2019 World Cup later. :giggle: P.S. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh (the Maharaja of Patiala from 1900 to 1938) also played a few matches with his son the Yuvraj of Patiala. On the eve of India first Test tour in 1932, he was appointed to lead the side but had to withdraw because of ill health a fortnight before the trip. He was married ten times and fathered 88 children through wives and concubines. :woot:

Magneto Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Is there a record for total runs by a family? Will dig and find out :giggle: You mean 'total runs in int. matches or FC matches I guess'? Or can 'Ask Steven' easily :P
akshayxyz Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Will dig and find out :giggle: You mean 'total runs in int. matches or FC matches I guess'? Or can 'Ask Steven' easily :P I think FC would make more sense.. we don't space for 88 in international squad- even if all of them are equally talented.
