Sachin Tendulkar has scored 49 ODI centuries and 96 ODI 50s. If he scores 1 more 100 and 4 more 50s, he will become the first player in the history of cricket to score 50 100s and 100 50s in ODIs. He has taken 199 wickets in International cricket (154 + 45 ). If he takes one more wicket, he will become the only cricketer in history to have scored more than 33,000 runs and 200 wickets in internationsl cricket. He has scored 33,896 runs in international cricket cricket - He needs another 1104 runs to reach 35,000 runs. Quite a few landmarks...:two_thumbs_up:
hmm.. needs to be careful there. he must not convert 4 of the 50s into 100s, otherwise he might take longer to get there - wont be in the interest of the team.

Kapil paaji is one of my fav cricketers so I will use him to illustrate the difference b/w 'records': type a) Ind is 17/5 vs Zim in 1983 WC. Kapil paaji walks in and blasts a memorable inning posting 175 not out, which was probably the higest ODI score at that time .... that's a record :hatsoff: type b) Kapil paaji is aging and has become greater than the game in Ind. "Probably" his personal goal is to be rated as the best amongst the 4 great all-rounders and thinks that having the WR would place him in that position :dontknow: .... whatever the reason, he continues till he gets the record. There were jokes that Hadlee should come out of retirement and play a series in which he would take enough wkts for make it almost impossible for Kapil to break it. The assumption being that whatever Hadlee would get in one series, Kapil would need tons to get that many. Such 'records' should not be appreciated by fans We should not forget that cricketers are humans too and despite being superstars, they too can lose the sense of things. Being a fan doesn't mean one has to "blindly" support what your fav superstar does. If we continue with this meaningless pursuit for the sake of getting 'type b' records, as i have said before, a day 'could' come when a batsman on 99 could go for a single on the last ball with India needing a boundary to win
