You could check the HL. He kept bowling outside off to Hussey where he is darn strong at. Watson was coming back from an injury and Shulka defended those 8 runs on a wicket that wasn't slow and flat as that of the Chennai one. He is a good bowler but as of yet T20 isn't his format. Even Yadav was filth during his first few T20 games and since the CLT20 in SA last year under the guidance of TA Sekhar he has improved immensly as a LOI bowler.
Yes, I saw that match. He did not bowl worse than Cooper and Trivedi. Watch that match and see how many freebies those two bowled. Give credit to Hussey who played magnificently in that match. Hussey makes his own room to cut and slash by moving back. Bowling 19th over, pitch has nothing to do with that because you are not bowling length. He bowled full and straight in that match and pitch had nothing to do with that. He has helped witn 2 out 3 matches and people still saying he was overhyped while he is not even hyped let alone overhyped. No one rated or expected much from him before this IPL but he certainly exceeded them in first 2 matches. Third match was not that good, but one bad match and he is overhyped. Look at Australia, Cummins even if he has been thrashed in LOIs, they still continued to play him until he got injured because they know players can only get better once they play at the higher level more and get experience. Sitting on the bench does not make anyone better.

what rubbish? Shukla didnt bowl as poorly as Cooper and Trivedi. Show me one bad ball of him in that match. It was Hussey's sheer brilliance. Cooper and Trivedi bowled pies in that match.
:giggle: So if Shukla goes for runs, it is sheer batting brilliance. But if Cooper and Trivedi goes for runs, it is because they bowled pies. Great thinking there.

They lost to a good team and a slow pitch. Nothing they could have done and they should not think too much of it. Their strategy was right of putting Dravid at the end, as they needed quick runs and Dravid is not the person for that. But still their biggest worry has to be Rahane. He plays such an important role and he needs to do well for his team if they are to win and do better. Rahane has failed to do that at all.

Did I take Shukla's name? dont make things which are not there.
It's a case of the dog which didn't bark - you did not take Shukla's name but took names of players who have done better than him in this season and in the case of Trivedi across multiple seasons.
I meant because these two guys went off the boil in recent matches has hampered their plans and exclusion of Cooper has left a void in their bowling which needs to be filled so they can play likes of Edwards.
Fair point. But it certainly could not be predicted beforehand the way Cooper bowled in the initial stages.

Good win yesterday. Perhaps the most professional chase, it was very balanced where they only had a RRR of >10 just once. Although, RR needs to end this well. Their past 4 IPL seasons have always been like this, started well but finished very poorly. And this time they have a lot of tough upcoming games. And Cooper and Harmeet Singh must be one of the laziest players at least in terms of bowling action. So casual and little. And their fielding exactly good as well.
