Chalks Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 support us saffers :D Hey, I live in Oz kiddo. True story: As a kid growing up here (in the 1980s) I dreamt of one day wearing the baggy green. I was inspired by Allan Border carrying the team almost single-handedly through the dark days of the mid 1980s. I grew up following the Ashes in England in the early hours. In the backyard I was always (a right-handed version of) AB, or "Beefy" Botham. It was only really as an adult, with my dreams well and truly dashed, that I turned against the Aussies. But when I look back, maybe I only really "hated" them for a really stupid reason - that they were just too damn good. Now they're back to being an ordinary side (albeit still much better than India), and the only real threat to Sach's records is gone (Kallis too won't be around much longer).
Spiderguy252 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Are Sri Lanka better than us? I know they played only two tests, but jeez aside from that one KP innings I can't recall them having as much trouble getting through this English line-up as much as we are enduring at present. Pakistan are better than us, no question about it. Of course, there's no way to find out since the morons at the SLC changed the test series last year to 5 ODIs and the less said about Ind-Pak test prospects, the better.
Crookbond Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 that was my whole point earlier anyway:P what happens to TINA factor?I think he'll hold on his place as skipper I think some change would be good. It's time to let him "rest" I think.
Lord Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I think some change would be good. It's time to let him "rest" I think. yes I agree as u know.but who'd be the replacement?Kohli has dissapointed as well
Crookbond Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 yes I agree as u know.but who'd be the replacement?Kohli has dissapointed as well Tendulkar - Test matches.
Crookbond Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Most spineless India test team I have seen in the last 15 years. Only Sachin's team in 99-00 which lost 5 matches on trot comes close. Not even that team - it showed a lot of pluck and we had numerous advantageous positions throughout the Australia and South Africa series. Not here though - we are just going through the motions.
Crookbond Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 wont be a bad idea We need someone more "active" than a laid back person like MS Dhoni at least for the Test team. It may also give Dhoni some rest. However, this would mean that Tendulkar should retire from ODIs which I think is a win-win situation overall.
