In test matches ,against a 70 year old zaheer , and "short and wide " ishant plus the mediocre spinners that india have kumaraaa singhara and mahelllaa can bat for ages .India are still ranked better than srilanka although that might not be for long judging by the current form .

Must be rank turner for last test This test looks to be heading for a defeat and I doubt we can draw. We dont' have characters like VVS or Dravid who can grind you in the second innings :two_thumbs_up: In my opinion we need to get a 2-2 draw at all costs to not look like idiots. We should prepare a similar pitch to the kanpur one we used v SA. It can backfire but we have to take the toss out the equation and hope for the best. I would play proper test batsmen and not people who have failed so far. Also try different bowlers. Still open with Viru and GG as both are getting runs although I think we have better players than GG. Sehwag GG Pujara Tendulkar Tiwary Rahane Dhoni Jadeja Kartik Ojha Yadav Left arm spin but with variety there in speed, experience and accuracy. Yadav as sole fast bowler. No point playing a fast bowler for sake of variety like ZK, Ishant. He is the only one who can bowl seam well in bursts with wickets to show even though can be inaccurate.

The team relies on the batting to win. the batting has not delievered due to lack of form inthe seniors and pls some addition of unproven young blood. To have two young players and one struggling test player yuvraj and to think that results will not be affected is delusional. three batsmen in the indian middle order used to carry a lot ofweight. mentioning last year's peformnaces is misleading.we struggled in 2004 as well when lot of batsmen were in poor form.australia won a series in india and pakistan scored tons of victories in that period in ODI,drawing a series with one of the weakest pakistani teams. Transition will affect results especially away from home.period. the form of the seniors has worsened the situation further. the onlysurprise was many ppl thought a home series was a automatic win vs sides like england and current spinners would carry on from kumble with the same effectiveness.

I know but now that we are going behind, we have to take the risk. Can't afford a bore draw or slow loss. We have to be prepared to loss/win convincingly. And rank turner gives that. New personnel helps too. What do you want? Flat road when he are behind in the series? I don't think anyone would do that!

Here's how I rank them: Power House: South Africa, Australia, England and India. Average: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and New Zealand. Minnows: Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. We're the weakest amongst the powerhouse teams, but we can easily smash the average/minnow teams. Pakistan is overrated, they recently lost a series against a weak Sri Lankan side.

Lengthens batting. Decent first class bowling record. Also when bowling to England in ODI's he wasn't get dart wickets, rather through a lot of quick turn and flight. He let it rip. Lets face it, no point sticking in Ashwin and Chawla. Or no ball Mishra.

India is going through transition Lost couple of our middle order batsmen. Couple that we have are in twilight of their career. Few are out of form. Few youngsters are barely into their second season at Test level. Uninspiring coach' date=' rigid captain. A jackass cricket board who denies technological advantage to its bowlers. It is always about batsmen. These are recipes for disaster. There will be some ups and downs. Shouldn't be surprised to see prolonged slumps from our team. Prepare a turner that is slow low with low bounce - like the one we had in Kanpur - 2008 v/s SAF. Play 3 spinners and one seamer - yadav if he is fit.
