Ultimate_Game
Every format needs skill, although it's a different skill set for each format. If T20s or odis didn't need any skills wouldn't we see likes of Trott or Dravid greats in all formats? Link to comment
Executioner
:finger: :finger: :finger: to all who says T20 doesnt need skill or intelligence IMO, T20 is the format in which you need to be the most intelligent because its just not about bowling wicket to wicket or playing conventional shot. A batsman need to be intelligent enough to understand what the bowler is gonna bowl next and the bowler needs to be intelligent to as to know what will be the best ball for the situation. And as a captain you need to be very smart when it comes to field placing and rotating bowlers. Thats the difference between MSD and Baldywag(see IPL for reference). And as for skill, a lot of skill is needed to bowl a yorker, or play a shot that gets the ball over fine leg, between short third man and point.....Not to mention conventional cricket shots are also played regularly Link to comment
King Khan
Nice theory :giggle:. BCCI may keep a IQ record for all participants in secret and suggest francishises to bid according to this intelligence factor. But one problem, What if Jaddu really scored more than Saurav?!! Link to comment

JourneyMan
You can develop quite a few skills in T20. Bowling: excellent practice for bowling tight overs, especially for death overs. Fielding: crucial in T20, where runs are more costly than any other format. The Indian fielders coming through the IPL are much, much better than their predecessors. Batting: Useless for tests. Good practice for openers to keep a high run-rate, and also good practice for maximizing runs in the death overs. Link to comment

msb1991
India announces the squad for T20 WC, 2012 Yuvraj, Harbhajan named in T20 squad ESPNcricinfo staff August 10, 2012 India batsman Yuvraj Singh has been named in India's T20 squad for the home series against New Zealand and the ICC World Twenty20 next month in Sri Lanka, marking a return to cricket after battling with cancer. VVS Laxman, Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Piyush Chawla and Ajinkya Rahane have been included for the home Tests against New Zealand later this month. Rohit Sharma has been left out of the Test squad after a lean period with the bat. Yuvraj, who last played for India during the home Tests against West Indies, was passed fit when the selection committee met in Mumbai to pick the respective squads. During his recovery from cancer, Yuvraj said last month that Twenty20 would be ideal format to mark his return to competitive cricket. However, he was picked despite lacking in match practice. The Twenty20 squad had a few surprises, most notably the recall of the legspinner Chawla (in both squads), offspinner Harbhajan Singh and the seamer L Balaji. Chawla last played for India during the 2011 World Cup, and his previous Test goes back a further three years. Balaji, who suffered career-threatening injuries through the previous decade, last played for India in 2009. What may have boosted his selection was a successful IPL 2012, during which he played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders' title win. India's squads T20 squad: MS Dhoni (capt/wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Irfan Pathan, R Ashwin, Zaheer Khan, L Balaji, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Ashok Dinda Link to comment
