Wow. I mean there is a reserve day between preliminary round matches and super 8 but there was/is no reserve day for the games which are being reduced to 5 over farce or are completely getting washed out. and who has to pay?? teams like Ireland who couldn't finish their full 2nd match. Farce.

Its a stupid format. Why not just put all 8 teams who qualify into a hat and pick out the 2 groups. Would make it much more interesting and be fairer. But the ICC is probably the dumbest and most usless sports body going.

2 matches in group stages don't you guys think 2 matches in group stages are too less as the team finishing 3rd in a group only plays maximum of 2 matches in an event like World T20. West Indies got through to super eight without actually winning a match but went through on run rate. Afghanistan showed some promise against India but were blown away by England but they deserved to play few more matches against top teams in a big global event like World T20. I think if they are going to keep only 12 teams then they should be 2 groups of 6 teams with top 3 teams going to super six or 3 groups of 4 teams with top 2 teams going to super six.

They should have two groups instead of 4 groups. That way you can see more consistent teams going through to semis.

I think to reduce minnow matches they have the format this way. Imagine Zimboks and Ireland playing 5 T20 games. Chances are they could lose all their matches. Same with Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

what is the point of getting minnows involved in a tourney for only 2 matches, might aswell start the tourney with top 8 teams. I think ICC should give them minimum of 3 matches even though its only one extra match which they might still lose but 2 matches is just taking the piss from minnows fans point of view tbh

minnows suck 99% of the time, get hammered and make for extremely dull and boring matches. the less we see of them the better. no room for sentiment in elite sport. you either compete properly or die.

Apart from ICC tournaments they rarely get to compete against top teams. So they should be given more chances.

for this world T20, they were total of 72 matches played by 16 teams out of which Afghan and Irish qualified only to play 2 matches in this world tourney and poor ireland even had one of that match washed out.

you guys are really something.. this format was to reduce useless matches... if they had only two groups, that would be a borefest with 75% of boring matches.. this way minnows could qualify if they were talented enough.. or else go home.. bar the weather factor, this format is perfect for T20..

who cares. there is far too much importance given to minnows and womens cricket by icc. cricket has been going along just fine with the main teams for many years, and i and most other people only want to see the best in the world in the big tournaments. if i want to watch random blokes with hardly any ability have a hit and giggle i will go down to the park on a sunday.
