Where was this attitude when this team was playing in England? What about Broad's hattrick? Bhajji was 2nd batsman to be out and he clearly edged the ball. Do you think that he could have done same thing there also? Players acted like this only because of pressure of winning or maybe they know that nothing can happen to them in an IPL game.
Are you worried with the inconsistency in Harby's behaviour?... Humans are generally inconsistent and also learn from their mistakes. I don't care whether he gets penalized for this, but the grievance was legit and the decision was a horrible one. We aren't talking about undetectable inside edges in close lbw decisions, we are talking about a bowled dismissal which the umpire failed to see. What do you mean by "pressure of winning"? Of course there should be pressure to win otherwise we'll consistently repeat England 2011. As for the saying "nothing can happen in IPL", lol you must've missed the first edition of IPL which Harby sat out.

In there to win it... They did not sledge the batsman or abuse the umpires... yes they were animated in their appealbut that was for justice... nuff of playing goody shoes and cope the **** In the end the right decision was made, love this attitude by MI...
yeah obviously in this case it was the umpires fault who were so adamant not to refer it to the third umpire..they should have referred it to the third umpire initially itself when they were not so sure.. I think the commentators at that moment, showed Bhajji and Munaf in a bad light, when they were asking for the umpire to just consult with the third umpire.. This was not like a DRS review or something, which the on air commentators were mentioning. this is not a lbw or a caught of a faint edge situation. It was bowled and obviously the umpires are to be blamed for not consulting

I was wondering what prompted them to act like this. I have never seen them doing same in international match and I doubt we will see him doing so in future. But then again, all this happened because of umpires fault.

Yeah... but this is something which was/is common with Australians... I've seen Shane Warne howling and cursing the umpire (obviously no action was taken) and how many times have we seen Ponting doing his dogface with the umps? Nobody is going to remember if you win the Spirit of cricket award, all people remember are wins and winners.

So now its OK to behave like this...hope people dont mind other teams repeat the dose :two_thumbs_up:
yep time to F umpires off altogether. And these acts of bravery should now be extended to plumb LBWs and faint edges as well. All hail Munaf and Bhajji for making cricket so much better :hail:

Both players will face the consequences..What they did was wrong. I think the MI team is under lot's of pressure. The expectations are high, the team is more hyped than the substance..Bhajji too is under lot's of pressure after their loss against PWI... Finally, both Bhajji & Munna are certified hotheads..Their facial expressions also doesn't help. It was wrong on the part of the MI staff to 'relay the message' after checking the replays... I think the MI staff are more responsible for what happened. The players would've got on with the decision but they were 'relayed a message' by the MI staff... This 'onfield umpire's decision' is the real bone of contention...I think the 3rd umpire should've powers to 'intervene' and put things right, overruling the onfield umpires decision. This should be in DRS also...
This is exactly what I have been thinking. The two teams MI and KKR look to be under so much pressure, primarily IMHO due to too much interference by their owners and the support staff sucking upto them. Could be a wrong perception, but the players do look to be under a lot of pressure.

That's how we do it! :mi: At least now we know that it's not the north and western players who are making the Indian team soft (ring a Bell?).

It is understandable for players to lose it once in a while, as they are the ones who are giving it all, and are fully into the game. You can't expect every one of them to behave like lions one moment and like a sheep in the next. That is why it becomes even more important for umpires to behave like adults, and not be adamant like they were yesterday. Especially when these days they review every other bowled decision too ( check for no-balls and stuff). Agreed that Bhajji/Munna did not behave 'gentlemanly' but umpires were bigger morons yesterday. As for question in OP, whether players should be allowed. Of course such behavior can not be 'allowed' by the book, but if umpires keep behaving like the way they did, it can't be stopped. As a player, once you are playing for winning, you do not care about petty fines, esp in crucial moments.

I do not think the confusion was about the edge, it was whether the ball hit the stumps directly or bounced off keeper.

pathetic cricket all around. umpires should have gone upstairs right away, didn't happen. then harbhajan and munaf should have just shut the **** up and accepted the decision, didn't happen. then, umpires should have had the guts to say "we've taken the decision and that's it, you boys go to your places", didn't happen.
