A team with Bradman and Sobers is like playing with 13 instead of 11 players - team A would be pretty much impossible to beat.
But who was the better bat between the two...:--D Man on man comparison renders Bradman against George Headley...I do think all things considered that may be the closest comparison with Don, black or white. Sobers takes on Botham. I am with Botham because he would pick wickets off lousy deliveries. lol..Sobers would take that one easily. Imran takes on Hadlee and Kapil Dev. Thats 80s part deux all over again...:coolsun:

Team C does look freaking solid. The only weak link seems to be Qadir but thats probably because Indians did not see him doing much damage, and Benaud always has a thing for leggie. Overall though, hard to find fault with this approach of picking 66 players and ending up with 3 teams. Yes Akram, Marshall and many others got left out but still all in all a rather definitive exercise.

Team B would be pretty good to watch too, stylish aggressive batsmen and deep batting..bowling is better than C but C's middle order of Headley/Pollock/Lara is awesome, opening duo slightly less so. I wonder if this was done so B was meant to be 'better than' C, because those 3 batsmen should definitely be in Team B if that is the case

Or may be Indians have seen him going for 27 runs in an over against a 16 year old. Any ways speaking about spinners do you remember Tauseef Ahmed an off spinner, he use to always bowl with Qadir. He was the main reason for Pakistan win in Bangalore test. Qadir and Tauseef complimneted each other very well.

My guess is Benaud picked players for slots. So top ranked openers (Hobbs & Sunny) make to Team A, second ranked openers (Hutton & Morris) makes to Team B and third ranked openers (Greenidge and Trumper) made to team C. Lara's batting comparison was with Sachin (1) and Worrell and its great to see Benaud picking Worrell ahead of Lara. Sure thats contentious but Worrell was a darn good batsman too.

Of course I do. Tauseef Ahmed is more famous for Sharjah sixer. He was the bridesmaid to Javed Miandad and after Miandad hit that six and ran off, people ran over to crowd him, bechaara Tauseef Ahmed got thr brunt of it, and in the ensuing milee also got a danda by policeman on his rear end.. :hysterical: There is a funny song in pakistan about the whole event. But yeah you are right about Bangalore test. He and Iqbal Qasim won the day for Pakistan. Turns out it was Bishen Bedi who had given the tip, specially to Qasim. Dont overspin the ball on a spinning track, just pitch in right areas and the pitch shall spin for you.

Wasn't the tip - On a spinning track, the most dangerous ball is the one that does not spin ?

Tauseef is legend. During that Sharjah 6 game he had to get a single of the penultimate ball and till this day I don't know how he managed to get a run there. As for botham is there any bowler in history to get so many wickets off long hops?

Here's how it will go. All modern players will be out cause my bowling attack is world class. Bradman and Hobbs have poor techniques, never faced doosra (Murali) or reverse swing (Wasim), consistency of McGrath or a very tall fast bowler like Ambrose. So I think we all agree your team would be 180ish all out. My batting line up is solid. A wall in Sunny, get him out a wall in Dravid. Aggressive opener and then also god of cricket. The gritty Waugh and agressive Lara. In the end Gilly will slog a few. Let us be realtea the only true great bowler you have is Malcolm. Tendulkar would murder Warne, Hadlee and Lilee are not the best ever. So we will be 550/6 dec. Then track will become turner Murali gets 7 for( Bradman clueless against doosra). We win by innings. Good game

Ah except we are not time travelling are we. Hobbs and Bradman would be as good as modern day caoching and training would allow them to be or, or your team would be as good as 1920's and 30's coaching and training would allow them to be.
