deathmonger Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 results don't really matter. what does is us getting a few good players. good thing the pitches are difficult. ppl should not take india a team as future india team. most members of india a won't play for india.

Dont think anyone is worried about results. BUt they are worried about gutless display by players who are much more exposed to international cricket compared to their counterparts. They didn't just lose .. But demolished.
India-KXIP fan Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Pujara is ready for the No.3 spot. Kohli should move up to 4 once SRT retires.

Chandan Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 So' date=' life is not a set of easy to define problems and successes which are constantly unchanging unless there is some overhauling explanation for the change. No one ever suggested our batsmen were faultless against spin.[/quote'] So they are not experts while playing spin, they can't play quicks on green-tops or bouncy tracks. So what are they good for then, then? Scoring on flat tracks against C grade trundlers? Sorry then. India will very quickly slide to the level of WI/NZ if that is so and fans will find relief in IPL. Players won't feel hurt or embarrassed after miserable defeats because they'll get enough money from IPL. Did you see Rohit Sharma's tweet after the match? Is he even aware of the importance of these A tours? Or is he assured that since others are performing so bad, just one good inning is enough to get into the test side?
asterix Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The fear of not getting chance to play in the seniors team or missing the boat completely is not there.. Players can still survive as options like IPL is there... Some sorts of 'A' team performance rating should be there which could affect players IPL career...
msb1991 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 So they are not experts while playing spin' date=' they can't play quicks on green-tops or bouncy tracks. So what are they good for then, then? Scoring on flat tracks against C grade trundlers?[/quote'] Please reread what I wrote. Life is NOT a set of easy to define problems. No team is 100% proficient against spin, nor is any team 100% proficient against pace. Teams have nuanced weaknesses, players have off days, etc. No two pitches are identical, no bowler is identical in terms of quality of performance on two different days,

Chandan, your post reads like you want there to be a huge public hue and cry about the test defeats and the players wrist slitting falling over each other to condemn the defeats. Players and the board are not there to assuage the hurt feelings of fans -they are there to play cricket, thats it. Almost everything that ICFers were demanding for in the aftermath of the 8-0 defat has happened gradually - just that there it didn't happen with a huge public display of repentance. 1) The seniors are being given a nudge -RD retired and most probably VVS will too 2) the Ranji trophy is being revamped 3) A-team overseas tours are going to be a regular feature now Other action points will happen as well - whether they are effective or not , only time would tell, but saying that no one cares about test defeats is plain wrong

Not to mention third class umpiring. Not a single Indian umpire in the elite group despite being the cricketing powerhouse. Padosis have 2. That in itself is a shame.

jj_28 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 For me our most basic problem is the lack of quality pitches around India that neither test our batsmen or give a chance to our bowlers Surely BCCI can change this
vvvslaxman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 For me our most basic problem is the lack of quality pitches around India that neither test our batsmen or give a chance to our bowlers Surely BCCI can change this the thing is same pitches were good in the past. chennai always produced great results. mohali pitch was unplayable for our batsmen when walsh and Kenny benjamin was steaming in. tony cozier wrote a sarcastic article about indian batsmen after they displayed appalling technique. He even took a dig at Tendulkar on a newspaper column. That was the match that earned the reputation for Mohali. For odd reason it lost its zip over the years. I was aghast when Kamran and Razzaq casually without any risk saved the test on a day 5 pitch at Mohali.
Precambrian Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Ok so Tendulkar has to retire so that the likes of Rohit and Dhawan can "claim" their 'righful" spots in the XI...

I just want them to be prepared. But I can't see any of these next crop players ready for the tests. Is it not board's fault? Is it not domestic cricket's fault? Is it not players' fault? Is it not IPL's fault? It is the collective fault and Indian cricket is going to lose in the end.
jj_28 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Pujara is the only batsmen that has done enough to prove he's ready for Test cricket, Rohit should be in the squad but starting over Tendulkar and Laxman not too sure about that just yet
rkt.india Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 But the leading wicket taker was a quick bowler. On a similar pitch, Indian team couldn't chase down 120 against fast bowlers. It was a kind of pitch where ball was shooting low and was suddenly bouncing as suggested by the commentary on twitter and both West Indian pacers are giants played this match and then it becomes difficult to face such bowlers on such a track.
rkt.india Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Did I say that? But those who are not ready to accept why things are happening have no right to criticize. Earlier we faltered due to lack of exposure on quick pitches, never against spinners, on turning tracks. Now that is also happening. So? You dont remember when our batsmen surrendered against spinners. Saqlain Mushtaq, Murli, Mendis are examples against whom we lost test matches and they were all spinners.
