Clarke Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf is being investigated by Bangladesh intelligence agencies for allegedly submitting a fake clearance letter to play in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). When Yousuf appeared for the Victoria Sporting Club in the league against Abhani Club on March 28, the latter refused to play, saying Yousuf was ineligible to play for Victoria since had played for Mohammadan Club the previous year. Under Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) rules, a player can only represent another club in the DPL after one year, and only if he obtains a NOC from his previous employers. Abhani claimed that the NOC letter submitted by Yousuf on behalf of Mohammadan Club was a fake one. The BCB handed over the matter to the intelligence agencies after participating clubs in the DPL, which remains suspended, refused to resume playing in the event until the matter was resolved. Yousuf, who has not played for Pakistan since November 2010, also made it clear that he was approached by Victoria to play for them and agreed after being given the impression that he could play for a different club in the DPL after obtaining clearance from his previous employers. "I don't understand what the fuss is about. The NOC letter was given to me by the Victoria Club, which obtained it after signing me on to play for them in the Dhaka league. Now, whether it is fake or genuine, how should I know," the Daily Times quoted Yousuf, as saying. "I went to Dhaka after being given a copy of the NOC and clearance by Victoria. They obtained the NOC from Mohammadan. It had nothing to do with me," he said. Yousuf also said that he would neither approach the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for assistance nor hire any legal help, as it was an internal matter of the BCB. "It is for them to sort out things. But I am disappointed with all this controversy," he said. http://in.news.yahoo.com/yousuf-trouble-bangladeshi-intelligence-over-fake-dpl-clearance-061458145.html When the prophet money calls, that is when you go :orderorder: http://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/it-was-not-about-cricket-when-the-prophet-calls-that-is-when-you-go-20100101-llqw.html

1983-2011 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Yousuf clarifies Dhaka confusion Mohammad Yousuf asserted he has a valid No Objection Certificate to play in the Dhaka League. The former Pakistan captain, thus sought to put to rest the confusion that was created by some of his own statements. Yousuf was reportedly being investigated by the Bangladesh intelligence agencies for allegedly submitting a fake clearance letter to play in the Dhaka league. The Bangladesh Cricket Board apparently handed over the matter to the intelligence agencies after Yousuf appeared for the Victoria Sporting Club in the league against Abhani club on March 28. Abhani had claimed that the NOC submitted by Yousuf on behalf of his previous Mohammedan Club was fake and fraud but the senior batsman denied this. "The quote has created some misunderstanding as it gave an impression that Victoria gave me the clearance without the consent of my previous club Mohammedan. In fact I was given the NOC by Mr Lutfur Rahman Badal when I was playing for Mohammedan," Yousuf said in a statement. "Mr Badal was the then cricket committee chairman of Mohammedan but now he is the chairman of Victoria's Governing body. I hope it will remove any confusion that was created by my comments," he added. Yousuf had earlier stated that he had no role to play in the whole issue.

ganeshran Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Is Mohammad Yousuf a terrorist or a threat to Bangladesh national security? why is the intelligence division involved?:hysterical: +1 What is the jurisdiction of the intelligence agencies in this matter?
CSK Fanatic Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Bangladesh has intelligence? Yes, it was setup in 1979 by BD govt to find cows which went missing near Indian border.
Dravid_TheWall Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 This is a shambles. Bit like when PCB set up an "integrity committee" to deal with match fixers. Pretty much everyone on this integrity committee was dodgy.
maniac Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Yes' date=' it was setup in 1979 by BD govt to find cows which went missing near Indian border.[/quote'] :haha:
bulbul Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 BD Intelligence agency :hysterical: may be inspired by Johny English or Austin powres
Naaz-neesh Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 idoits on both sides, note sure why MoYo doing these silly antics and bangaldesh intelliegence?!, it's cricketing issue to be sorted by cricket board and clubs in bangla. ICC don't go calling interpol if players do these type of shenanigans.
Iconoclast Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Seems like the Asia Cup defeat has left the bangbros mentally damaged. First the cancellation of the Pakistan tour and now this overreaction :WTF:
asterix Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 It's not poor Moyo's fault. It's between those two clubs. Why make fun if Moyo's trying to earn some money for himself & his family?
