ok...I must admit I have given up on cricket and I totally hate /detest IPL...So plz update me guys...How fast is this Awana ? I saw a few balls in which he took 2 wickets last night and he bowled around 138...Is that his top ? Laugh at me, but I think for experience sake, even Agarkar should be given a few int matches here n there...I mean the guy is still touching 135 and can york...If the lethal vinay can play, why cant ajit ?
Awana bowls around 135-144K range.

Seen him in a first class match....hardly touching 130.......since it's IPL' date=' he is pushing hard, i guess[/quote'] Not many bowlers push in FC matches where pitches does not respond. Still, he has bowled quite a few 140+ spells in FC cricket, BTW, he is known for his pace in domestic cricket. Even Dinda was barely bowling at 130 in FC and it is not as easy you are saying. You can only push and bowl quick if you have it in you. Otherwise, there are so many others who too bowl in IPL, but cannot bowl quick.

Agarkar has not played well in the IPL and was dropped from DD. He hasn't performed consistently for Mumbai either.

Take Dinda off that list. He couldn't even do jack shyte against Zimbos & Bangbros. Even Awana is more a medium pacer than a quick. The 3 pronged pace attack should be Umesh, Aaron & Ishant.

The 3 pronged pace attack should be Umesh' date=' Aaron & Ishant.[/quote'] Umesh didn't do **** when he played Zimbabwe either but he has improved. We're not going to find bowlers who look world class right from the start. Give them a fair run and see if they improve. Give them the boot if they don't. And Ishant? The guy has got enough opportunities and needs to spend a season playing FC cricket and work his way back into the team. Atm, he bowls one good spell every series. Aaron also needs to play more FC cricket and learn how to pick up wickets.

:agree: Yes and Aaron must play more FC matches to get the stamina to bowl long spells in tests and to bowl in various conditions and also get wickets. IMHO, he should have been selected for A tour to WI.

He is not as quick as Umesh, Aaron, Ishant, but he is still quick enough to bother any batsman if he bowls in the right areas. His spell against DD was awesome. There was not much help for pacers, but he hit the deck hard and moved the ball off the seam both ways and troubled every batsman and his lengths were very good too. He has decent pace and after that it is about consistency, hitting right areas. Any pacer who can bowl over 135K or more and hit right areas with a bit of seam movement can trouble batsmen in tests.

Not to ruin your party but you are judging bowlers ( Awana to mention one) after performances in a domestic T20 tournament where they bowl 4 overs only. Remember when you bowl only 4 overs in a match you give your all and bowl quite quickly. But ODIs and Test matches are different ball games. The only bowler of the four OP mentioned that has impressed is Yadav as he has bowled in many international matches and maintained good pace. Aron, with his action, won't be this quick for long I am afraid. And the coaches will ask him to reduce his pace to avoid any more back injuries because you can clearly see how much preassure he is putting on his back. Dinda, forget it man.

awana did well in ranji too its not a fluke performance he has been doing this for whole season and its abt potential no one said they are finished and world class bowlers

Awana has bowled 140s un First class cricket as well. Moreover, a bowled does not need to bowl 140 plus all the time in tests. They need to learn from the likes of Steyn when to conserve and when to go all out. Yadav is certainly genuinely quicker and he is a rare breed. there are few fast bowlers who can clock 150k as effortlessly as he does in international cricket. Look at Aaron, he is coming from a srious injury after 5 months and bowling within himself and still clocking 147k. I dont put Dinda in this category. For me, it is Yadav, Ishant, Aaron, Awana, Shami Ahmed. DINDA only for LOIs.
