vvvslaxman Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 im impressed finally :) hope he carries this in world cup He will get bowled out to a left arm spinner playing on the backfoot atleast twice :cantstop:
Old guy Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 He will get bowled out to a left arm spinner playing on the backfoot atleast twice :cantstop: lol probably but this was ruthless stuff :P but i still doubt his technique ..
IKnowU Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Not like he has sizzled in T20 as well at interntaionl level. 4 fifties in 25 matches . 1 of them against ireland. Meh, he was always used as a makeshift batsmen floating up and down the order. Maybe he will find a more stable position in the team now.
sarcastic Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Not like he has sizzled in T20 as well at interntaionl level. 4 fifties in 25 matches . 1 of them against ireland. Well, T20Is happen only once in a long while. And if you see the impact he made in matches he played for India for T20Is, it is much more than respectable (He has three MoMs probably) and certainly not cringeworthy as you are trying to portray. I do agree with his ODI stats but they are quite spoiled by an exodus ODI's he played during 2008-2010 era when he was very immatured. I am completely with you in criticism of his mental fragility or brainfarts in playing shots as well as running between the wickets and susceptible technique against spinners(more so against slow-leftarmers).
SLICKR392 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I've seen him as more of a Test player than a limited over one. He scored a 100 today, the next game, he won't go beyond 15-20 runs.
Lord Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 he is an enigma.last match got out to Vinay Kumar,n now smashes bowler like Lee,Narine for a ton
asterix Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Just saw replay of his straight six off Lee... What a shot...

vvvslaxman Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 he is an enigma.last match got out to Vinay Kumar' date='n now smashes bowler like Lee,Narine for a ton[/quote'] smashing Lee is definitely not a criteria for me [ame= Lee to Robin Uthappa - YouTube[/ame] [ame= Lee to Robin Uthappa - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itCCd8LppfA]Robin Uthappa HUGE six off Brett Lee SCG 2007/08 - YouTube[/ame] This was when Brett Lee was in better form. Uthappa just flat batted him at the SCG straight over his head for six.
sarcastic Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 smashing Lee is definitely not a criteria for me This was when Brett Lee was in better form. Uthappa just flat batted him at the SCG straight over his head for six. Uthappa is pretty decent batter against pace (at least on fast tracks). Uthappa is particularly gifted when it comes to his onside play and it seems he also has the natural anticipation and bat swing which very few batsman seems to have. But over time, Uthappa has not improved at all and is now frustrating to watch sometimes!!!
IKnowU Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 smashing Lee is definitely not a criteria for me I can cherry pick Malingas, Steyn sixes etc etc too and show you that they too are not a criteria for me.

Sachinism Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 smashing Lee is definitely not a criteria for me This was when Brett Lee was in better form. Uthappa just flat batted him at the SCG straight over his head for six. That's last year. Lee has bowled pretty well from what I've seen this year, I saw another game a few days ago and nobody was hitting Lee.

That is why i used the same batsman against Lee not different batsman. Lee has been hit for sixes by many. Who can forget zaheer's straight six . An half volley staight into sight screen.Anyway i know you have been his supporter for 5 years since first IPL.. tell me what the heck he has achieved with his so called "taulent" at the international level.
