Lord Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 He might not do the same when he leads India. But am pretty sure he won't drop Viru no matter how out of form he might be. & on what base you say that?
yoda Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 When things don't go his way, he can behave like a d!ck screaming and showing faces at other players. No way he is a great captain.

broken_wings Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 As Gauti himself mentioned, a captain is as good as a team. When all your team members perform, every decision of Captain looks brilliant and perfect. If today, Balaji and Shakib did not bowl miserly at the start, then his decision to include Shakib would look odd. But both Shakib and Abdullah played their part and Kallis backed up too with 2 wickets in crucial time. So, everything is fine and Gauti is a great captain :) But credit should be given when its due. I really liked his decision of going with 3 spinners. Unlike Test and ODI, in T20, run check is the very most important thing than trying hard to take too many wickets upfront with pace bowling. If bowlers can restrict batsmen from scoring runs (just what KKR bowlers did against MI), batsman will obviously try to play too many risky shots and that's when bowlers will get wicket.
rkt.india Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Playing 3 spinners was a poor selection on this track. It wasnt a slow track, not much turn too. Narine can bowl well on any pitch. Sakib and abdulla just bowled straight. It was crap batting by MI in PP overs. He had played 1 spinner at Eden that was another brainless selection.
J P K Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 i have been saying it from the start he is good captain
bulbul Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 3 Delhi captains now.. Viru' date=' Gauti, Kohli.[/quote'] Gauti looks little bit good beacuse Viru is dumb and Kohli is clueless
vamos_rafa Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I think you forgot the match against Chennai. Also, do you remember the second over of MI's innings yesterday? He had a long-on and a long-off in the secind over for Shakib-ul-hasan when the batters were struggling right, left and center. He has a good team and has been really playing well. As someone said, Gambhir the batsman has covered the howlers by Gambhir the captain.
CSK Fan Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 3 Delhi captains now.. Viru' date=' Gauti, Kohli.[/quote'] Delhites>>>Rajputs
Executioner Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Tonight was a nightmare for Dhoni lovers :cantstop:
adi B Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 gambo is the best captain for india in tests.. virat should not be given captaincy for at least 2 years, maybe in t20, but the idiot gave gayle the final over, where he knew he was smacked like hell earlier.
vvvslaxman Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Definitely he is the most pro-active captain compared to Dhoni and Viru(much stupider).
gaurav92 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Definitely he is the most pro-active captain compared to Dhoni and Viru(much stupider). :two_thumbs_up:
Executioner Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 yesterday his captainy was nowhere near that in MI game, but yeah, he still done very well. But i still dont like the fact that sir bhatia is getting every game when others are being benched. Shukla cudve taken his place in rest of the matches. Hopefully next match bhatia is given the boot and tiwari played. KKR will then have 8 specialist batsman, 3 quality spinner, 2 pacers and also 2 part timers shukla and pathan
broken_wings Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 So far so good. I liked the way he backed up his plan to play 3 spinners and YP despite being questioned.
vvvslaxman Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 But he has to cut it out this over the top appreciation for his team mates Now he goes "Yusuf is a magical player" :cantstop:
Crookbond Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Brendon McCullum, the Knight Riders wicketkeeper and former captain, called Gambhir an "outstanding" leader, saying that he had led from the front. "He is very soft-spoken in the changing room and around the group, and on the field he leads through performance and through actions," McCullum told IPLT20.com. "Technically, he has been very good and has used Sunil Narine incredibly well and he has got a lot out of the other guys as well. He has been excellent as a captain so far." http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2012/content/story/565920.html
Needforspeed Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 There is going to be a strong rivalry between GG and MSD tomorrow...since its public knowledge that they dont particularly like each other.
