Zelig Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Mallus & Bongs make the best realistic movies in India. Tammys close third. But recently, Mallus have been experimenting with the masala type movies.
ganeshran Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Malayalam movies are actually very good compared to rest of mainstream Indian cinema. Though the movies lack in bling and are usually very low budget, the scripts and acting more than make up for it. Tamil and telugu industry is mostly masala crap like Bollywood. Kannada industry is completely useless
Yoda-esque Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Mallus & Bongs make the best realistic movies in India. Tammys close third. But recently, Mallus have been experimenting with the masala type movies. Marathi films have been good off late as well.
GautiMaan Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 tollywood caters to the box office quite well,so bdfans liking is understandable not everyone wants to see artisic and crically acclaimed movies

Prakat Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 B1tch please, don't you go equating bd films with bengali cinematic tradition by calling it bengali films. Bd films cater to a different need, they are more like bhojpuri films, while Bangla cinema has touched the sublime in ray and ghatak's films.

The Outsider Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Recently saw a trailer from a southie(Telugu?) movie in which after the hero is killed by the bad guy, he reincarnates as a fly to take revenge. EbLR3qWdc6I
yoda Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 When it comes to movies, Bollywood >>>> Tolly/Kolly/.... Yes, some excellent Tamil movies are made too (more like 1 per year), but the amount of cr@p churned out is much more in non-bollywood movies. You can see the quality difference in remakes too. Billa vs Don, Nanban vs 3 Idiots. Now do the reverse - Ghajni Tamil vs Ghajni Hindi. You get the idea. Mani Ratnam/Rahman, Bharathi Raja/Ilajaya Raja combos have made some excellent Tamil movies, but those fall in the 1 per year category.

EbLR3qWdc6I Apart from the fact that the villain tried to shoot a house-fly with a gun, I dont see anything else wrong with that plot. :dontknow:

Tami/Telugul movies - Ajith, Vijay, Vikram, Surya, NTR, etc- generally churn out crap movies that cater to fans and teenagers. Salman has been actively remaking such crap movies in Hindi nowadays. Mushy and corny Bollywood movies are being copied in south movies, nowadays.

Cricket Tragic Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Just move to New Jersey. You'll learn Telugu/Gujrati by default. :yay: Be warned - You could forget your English though. :phehehe: :giggle:
