Okay discuss match related tactics and team selection . My take is whoever bats first will have won more than half the match considering both teams have spin bowling to exploit the second half of the innings. It is billed as Naraine vs CSK batting more than anything else. So fascinating tussle ahead.Last time Hussey had absolutely no clue about Naraine's bowling. He was wildly swinging the bat around. M Vijay also perished to him.

KKR seem heavily dependant on Gambhir. If he fails KKR mostly fails, whereas CSK have one match winning batsman after the other.... As a neutral fan I see CSk as heavy duty favorite and Narine as the only threat. He too can be defended against and the other smashed. KKR wud hope Yusuf has one of his rare fantastic days with the bat too. KKR aso have a slow Kallis at No.3 who wont exactly set the ground on fire with the bat. All in all if ur a betting man, bet on CSK.

CSK are favorites. Have won 2 games in Playoffs, they have better momentum and their experience in these kind of games is way above KKR. KKR batting is very weak and I don't think they will cross 150-155 against Dhoni's bowlers. Even if Gambhir scores 50-60.

From CSK point of view ...Hope Balaji is not fit for the game.:--D Balaji's absence will really effect the balance of KKR. On paper KKR are definitely the stronger and balanced team and the favorites. CSK will have to pull out everything in their bags if they are to win this. Most teams have found it tough to score against KKR. Highest scores against KKR this season - 182 by MI, 164 RR, 160 CSK & 153 DD. All the other scores have been below 150.

KKR will have to fire all their cylinder to win this match no doubt. If balaji plays Lee or De lungi will bowl and with such form balaji can bowl much much better. At the same time Sakib will most likely to miss out and to balance the team someother batsman will be included so its a loss-loss situation because then KKR loses two of the best bowlers, apart from narine in a track suited to slower bowlers, and yes, such pitches suit bowlers with variation like balaji. We all know what happened to Aaron last night. Also, GG just lost his mojo after the superior outburst in the middle games but the gud thing for him is that his middle order finally struck some form. Tiwary, pathan, shukla, sakib, havent been in good form with the bat but in last 1 or 2 matches have shown trace of form.

A-1 analysis. The most alarming thing - from KKR supporter standpoint - is that different people were responsible for putting up match winning totals in their 2 playoff matches. Murli Vijay and Raina both fell for ducks in the eliminator, but did great in the DD match. Hussey fired in the first match but not in the second.

Gambhir is key for RR. For CSK, Kallis is the key. If Kallis is at the crease, we need to make sure we drop any catch that comes our way.

Agree with most of the comments, such as: -heavy impact of the toss: batting first is indeed a big advantage and the obvious choice for both captains. -Narine: has been in excellent form, and took out the likes of Dhoni, Vijay and Raina when he played them in the CL. Also gave problems to Hussey in their last game. CSK batsmen will have to be patient against him but still take chances if they get them. As good as Narine is, he has also been hit for boundaries and if CSK manage some early boundaries off him then the pressure will be on the fielding team. -Gambhir is the key wicket for CSK. Once he gets out they should look to contain the run rate, because if they do so I believe the wickets will come by themselves. -Team selection: CSK should remain unchanged, I would be genuinely surprised if they changed the team. KKR might remain the same, although I'm not 100% sure about Shakib and Shukla. -McCullum hasn't been his old self this season, but if he gets going early it would be a huge boost to KKR and relieve the pressure down the order. All it takes is for Gambhir, McCullum and Pathan to have a decent game. -Whoever bats first should look to post 180+ to be in a strong position. Bowling: KKR have Narine as an emergency man. If CSK start slow then Gambhir shouldn't turn to Narine and should leave him as late as possible. He also has the luxury of choosing between 5 other bowlers for the remaining 4 spells (Bhatia/Kallis/Abdulla/Shakib/Bala the G). He will want to go for spinners against foreign players, pacers against Indians. CSK have a lesser emergency man in Ashwin who can slow things down on a good day. Hilfenhaus should open with the new ball, and shouldn't be given too many late overs. Bravo and Morkel are the other pacers, and on current form Bravo could get a couple of late overs, and Jakati is the specialist spinner. Jadeja and Raina can be turned to if the pitch is really turning, although I would avoid the latter if it isn't necessary. Batting tactics: -a fast start by CSK might force Gambhir to use Narine more than he wants to. CSK will ideally be looking at a couple of boundaries an over regularly from the likes of Bhatia, Shakib and even Kallis. -KKR's advantage is that none of the CSK bowlers are unplayable. Hilfenhaus, Morkel and Bravo have all been hit around the park at the some point. If Raina or Jadeja step in they should look for a big over in order to limit Dhoni's possibilities. Hilfenhaus will bowl 2-3 early overs, and if McCullum and Gambhir can punish him the pressure will be on CSK.
