Crookbond Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Maybe because what the writer is saying has been discussed multiple times in this very thread itself and hence pointless to counter those? Lokpal' date=' CAG, Sops to Tata, Malnutrition, Poverty etc . And then the outright lie about not speaking in assembly, not attending assembly proceedings and a "[b']habit of walking away when cornered". As for attacking the author, your political affiliations will come under scrutiny if you write such pieces, that too with concocted facts. Just because they are pointless to counter doesn't mean you indulge in ad hominem - lowers the quality of the discussion. On the assembly attendance, it would make much more sense to post his record rather than saying it as a "lie". All the above, if you want to be seen different than the author - else you are just like him but you support a different side. Modi likened to Raj Thackrey by someone who is perhaps a teenager' date= are people supposed to take the guy seriously? About his point of HDI, yes Gujarat needs to work on nutrition gaps in people and literacy rates. They have done quite well in electricity and water. These HDI figures(of 2011) are arrived at from 2007 data. So one can expect some change in them by now. Here's what he wrote on the comparison. To some extent, his style and language can be compared to that of Raj Thackeray’s. But Modi is more than that. In order to quit ambiguity, my interpretation is - 1. Modi and Thackeray have similar style/language to "some extent" 2. Modi is much more than Raj Thackeray I don't see how that comes across as "likening" - huge difference.

Raj stands for intolerance, hate, divisiveness and mental imbalance, has zero MPs, just 13 MLAs, next to zero following outside Mumbai (in fact, is hated all over India) and basically, is a nobody. To mention him and Modi in a single sentence is a joke. And then to say that "But Modi is much more" is a joke on a joke.

It hasn't got anything to do with the content.
diga Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Opposition against Narendra Modi aspiring to the position of prime minister of India appears to be building up among the country’s intelligentsia. After Amitav Ghosh, Jnanpeeth award winning Kannada author U R Ananthamurthy has now expressed apprehensions about Modi assuming the high office after the BJP declared him their PM candidate. “Modi can neither reflect ancient India nor can he build a model India. I will have no belongingness to India represented by Modi. I, in fact, will not like to live in India during that period,†Ananthamurthy has been quoted as saying in this report. He said this at a book release function in Bangalore on Sunday. Src: Firstpost
randomGuy Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Arrey dost - he said in style and language. It hasn't got anything to do with the content. But even that reeks of mannerlessness, rudeness, anger and mental imbalance. Should have chosen better comparison..

gs Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Italy could be a nice place to settle for him. To be fair, Karnataka BJP has been absolute rubbish. Maybe its anti incumbency at play here? :((

jimmyjjohn Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Sources close to Patel said, "He had visited Ganpat University, Kherva, near Mehsana, where the prathamik varg of RSS is organised. He met Praveen Ontia, one of the senior-most RSS leaders of the state and veteran RSS worker Bhaskarrao Damle. All three leaders held a closed-door meeting for at least an hour and a half.
saneindian Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 UR Ananthamoorthy threatens to leave India if Modi becomes PM. Anyone remember in the early 90s, Jyoti Basu threatening West Bengal will secede from India if BJP came to power or Lalu threatening formation of Jharkhand over his dead body. West Bengal continues to be in India and Lalu remains active in politics.

It's like watching a movie, where the villain home minister digging a hole under CM.

Macj Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Why do the following dislike Modi so much? 1) Nitish Kumar 2) LK Advani
dial_100 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I think Nitish's strategy to oppose Modi is going to cost him dearly in Bihar. He thought that he has a shot at the PM chair. Because NDA will get 160-180 and will need support of SP, BSP, Mamta to reach to 272. If Nitish creates an image of a secular face of NDA then allies may oppose to all BJP leaders and chose Nitish as the acceptable leader. In such scenario, he needs to have an image that he is a strong leader who opposes all the right wing leaders of BJP and has a support of secular side of NDA. Well thats never happening. LKA, he was mere trying his luck. I dont think he dislikes Modi or anybody.
someone Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 LKA, he was mere trying his luck. I dont think he dislikes Modi or anybody. Yep, more like his last wish. But unfortunately for him, no one is bigger than the party. It's not run by a single person unlike many other parties. A simple consensus decision by one democratic party
