JaiRamesh2 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 MODI THE HITLER Modi is the only issue this election Read more at: http://www.firstpost.com/politics/forget-scams-economy-modi-is-the-only-issue-this-election-1430429.html?utm_source=fpstory_relatedarticles Rahul Gandhi thinks Narendra Modi is Hitler. Ninety percent of Indians would have read about Hitler only is history books – if at all. Raj Thackeray wants to fight his cousin Uddhav of the Shiv Sena, but will back Modi for PM. Nitish Kumar thinks he is more qualified than Modi to be PM. Arvind Kejriwal says Modi has done nothing worthwhile in Gujarat. Every regional party says there is no Modi wave in their state. Everything seems to be in relation to how people stand in relation to Modi: Reuters The RSS is irritated that its own Swayamsevaks find pleasure in chanting “Namo, Namo” and its chief, Mohan Bhagwat, warned cadres that the Sangh is not in politics. Completely unknown journalists in the foreign media pontificate on Modi as though they know all about him or India (Read one such condescending article here). Muslims of various persuasions join the chorus to tell us why they hate NaMo, or why he does not matter. Even inside the BJP, there is supposed to be a 160-club, which sees a prospect for itself only if the BJP's tally comes down to 160 Lok Sabha seats. What does all this mean? Here are a few observations. First, this election is substantially about Modi and little else. Forget the economy, forget the scams, forget secularism, this election is often about defining where you stand vis-Ã -vis Modi. Second, if you want to be noticed and not ignored, you must have something to say – good or bad – about Modi. If you don’t have a point of view on NaMo, you are a nobody. Third, Modi’s detractors are the biggest contributors to building Brand Modi. When Rahul calls him Hitler, every news channel finds it necessary to take note. Thus, the focus shifts from what Rahul says to who he is talking about. This serves Modi’s purpose more than Rahul’s. Fourth, the main parties are making a huge mistake by demonising Modi. The heroes of today’s youth are not saintly characters, but achievers, even devilish ones. Evil looks smart to the young – as long as there is some achievement to show for it. Modi’s opponents are doing a nice job for him by painting him as Devil. Fifth, authoritarianism is not something Indians are too uncomfortable about right now. Incompetence is what worries them most. Almost every successful politician in pre- or post-independence India, past or present – think Mamata, Jaya, Maya, Nitish Kumar, MGR, Indira Gandhi, Nehru, Jinnah – has been a strong, if not authoritarian, personality. Reason: Indians know they are an indisciplined lot. This is why they prefer strong leaders – for a while at least – to bring in discipline. So calling anyone Hitler or Mussolini is not normally a negative for most Indians – those outside the chattering classes, that is. Sixth, we have a natural sympathy for the pariah. When you criticise somebody so much, the sting of criticism wanes. Critics of Modi thus have to shout louder to be heard. It does not work any more. Criticising Modi gets you noticed, but it may not get you votes. Seventh, Modi’s visible conduct has not been authoritarian at all. In all the lobbying for BJP tickets and allies, all the mistakes are being made by his critics in the party and the top leadership. Modi is not seen as trying to do anything beyond campaigning for his party. This kills most criticism of him as baseless or overblown. Eighth, Modi is said to be about “I, me, myself.” But voters do not necessarily see this as bad – since it represents change from the past. Indians are tired of their self-effacing selves of the past – especially the young. Modi talking about his achievements does not rankle as much with young voters as it did in the past with older voters. Confidence and brashness is not a minus against anyone in today’s world. On the contrary, voters may be wondering if the diffident ones have any achievements to their credit at all. Ninth, this election is not about 2002, or morality, or ethics. It is about success. Indians don’t want to be stuck with losers and excuses anymore. In April-May 2014, India will largely be voting on NaMo – despite some regional variations on the theme. All other issues have paled into insignificance. Candidates like Rahul Gandhi who don't have much to talk about will try to sell the fear of Modi than instead selling himself as a candidate. And seemingly Mr. Kejriwal has also join this gang as well.
Khalpat Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Another zahil and corrupt right wing fasscist. NEW DELHI: 'Metro man' E Sreedharan today came out in support of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying he hoped bold decisions under his leadership will fasten government's decision-making process. "Our problem is basically delay in taking government decisions and bureaucracy is responsible for it. We don't have self confidence to take bold decisions," Sreedharan, former managing director of Delhi Metro, said. bulbul Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 This may appear counter-intuitive, but PDP — the main opposition party in Jammu & Kashmir — as well as Hurriyat and separatist leaders believe that BJP's "anti-Muslim" prime ministerial nominee, Narendra Modi, is the best bet for Muslim-dominated Kashmir in the hope he can address both the internal and external dimensions of the region's problem. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the Hurriyat's moderate faction, was emphatic, saying BJP had a clear stand on Kashmir and has the "capacity" and political will to solve the problem. The Mirwaiz said a decade of Congress rule at the Centre reversed the work done by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government to resolve the conflict. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said, "A section of Kashmiris believe Modi can take some tough decisions on the Kashmir issue... (they believe) he may emulate Vajpayee who took some bold steps to infuse in the people hope of a final settlement of the Kashmir issue." However, she ruled out alliance with BJP in the state or even in New Delhi. Mohammad Yousuf Mir, a taxi driver whose top concern is peace so that tourists flock in large numbers to the Valley, said, "Modi is said to be communal but he would bring peace in Kashmir as the Valley is important for the integrity of India. Modi would try to bring Kashmiris around by announcing more concessions for a permanent settlement." http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/specials/lok-sabha-elections-2014/news/Modi-finds-unlikely-fans-in-JKs-PDP-separatists/articleshow/31911717.cms? :omg::omg::omg::omg::omg::omg::omg::omg:

Zestian Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 What I feel is there is a broader thinking behind all this AAP party nonsense,:potstir: 1. It has got the whole media's and peoples attraction. 2. That reduces Raga with no or lesser lime light and he is also not addressing any big rallies, rather he is making some hidden gatherings with people and begging for vote..:secret: 3. Media's focus shifted from scams and that whole lot of stuff to only AAP... :sherlock: 4. AAP only targeting BJP these days with no singe evidence and not congress ... :orderorder: 5. Kejri shifted his target - corruption to communal-ism.. :hmmm: 6. Kejri visiting places where BJP is most interested... :headshake: Is Congress behind them (AAP) ???:protest:
JaiRamesh2 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Uttar Pradesh, not Gujarat, witnessed most fake encounter killings Gujarat at the bottom of the list, whilst UP continues to be goondaland of India. www.dnaindia.com/india/report-uttar-pradesh-not-gujarat-witnessed-most-fake-encounter-killings-1968992 Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav is the worst offender when it comes to fake encounter killings. Of 1,788 such deaths across India between 2002 and 2013, Uttar Pradesh has the dubious distinction of being the state with the maximum number of fake encounter deaths (743), statistics released by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the government's replies to MPs' queries in the Lok Sabha reveal. Mulayam and BSP chief Mayawati 'oversaw' 431 and 261 fake encounter killings respectively during their tenures as CM. Mulayam saw 201 staged shootouts in his regime in 2006 alone. Mayawati, who was CM from 2007 to 2012, had her worst year in 2007 with 87 killings. Uttar Pradesh is followed by Assam (273), Andhra Pradesh (101) and Maharashtra (88), according to the NHRC statistics. Contrary to popular perception, the Narendra Modi-led Gujarat is somewhere at the bottom of the list with just 12 fake encounter deaths since 2002. It features below Jharkhand (55), Uttarakhand (53), Delhi (52), Chhattisgarh (46), Karnataka (39), Odisha (39), Manipur (38), Meghalaya (33) and even Tamil Nadu (31). With the election fever on, the figures provide more fodder for the BJP to target the Congress. After Mulayam and Mayawati, four Congress CMs – Assam's Tarun Gogoi, former Andhra CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy and former Maharashtra CMs Vilasrao Deshmukh and Ashok Chavan - have the worst track record. BJP's Arjun Munda, who was Jharkhand CM from 2005-2006 and then from 2010-2013, is seventh on the list with 27 fake encounter deaths recorded in his second term. In Andhra Pradesh, the YSR-led Congress government from 2004 to 2009 witnessed 58 encounter deaths. According to Lok Sabha figures, last year, there were 25 fake encounter deaths in the state which is now ruled by his colleague N Kiran Kumar Reddy. In Assam, under Gogoi, 273 encounters took place since 2002, with 62 in 2011. Similarly, in Maharashtra, Vilasrao's tenure from 2004 to 2008 was the worst with 38 such cases recorded. From 2010 to 2014, the state saw 14 staged shootouts. Experts point out the reasons for the increasing number of fake encounter killings across states. "Encounters are sanctioned as an unwritten policy approved by politicians, bureaucrats and to some extent, by society as well. When you provide blanket sanction to execute encounters, some unjustified killings are bound to happen," former Border Security Force director general Prakash Singh told dna. Singh, who served as Uttar Pradesh police chief, says a UP minister went to every district superintendent of police in the area with the names of goons he wanted killed in encounters. According to Singh, fake encounters also take place because of the failure of the country's criminal justice system in which a normal trial could take 5-35 years. Last year, a CBI court pronounced its verdict after 31 years in a fake encounter case in which 12 people were killed in Gonda district. "Fake encounters are a reprehensible act and against the tenets of law. We at the NHRC had also summoned the DGP of Uttar Pradesh some time back in the wake of the huge number of encounter deaths," said former NHRC director general PC Sharma. "Encounter killings are considered to be instant justice and are not only justified but also glorified in the name of insurgency, especially in the Northeast. Police, paramilitary, army and higher government officials enjoy impunity, which results in extrajudicial killings," said Suhas Chakma, director of the Asian Centre for Human Rights. Pointing out that the law made prior sanction necessary for taking action against any senior official, he said: "It makes the chief justice of India subservient to a clerk in some ministry." Chaman Lal and Savita Bhakhry, the two authors of the 2013 NHRC journal, said: "Fake encounters are considered an operational necessity, legally impermissible, but morally justified by most police personnel. Fake encounters are occurring with such sickening frequency that occasional reports of genuine encounters are viewed with suspicion."
Crookbond Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 ^ ok' date=' so is Gujarat the second worst ?[/quote'] No - Gujarat has had "only" 12 fake encounters since 2002.
ravishingravi Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 No - Gujarat has had "only" 12 fake encounters since 2002. Does that include Karsevaks encounter also ?
Sachin=GOD Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Question for Modi and his supporters - if Modi really is such a big leader as he and his supporters tend to think then why is he looking at 2 safe seats? If he has such stature and if there really is a Modi wave in the country then why doesn't he show some guts and contests from one safe seat in gujarat and one weak seat in UP? He wants varanasi in UP - that's as safe as it gets for that bjp....if he wants to contest 2 seats then he should contest an unwinnable seat for the bjp in UP - lets see if he can win such a seat.
Raghav_12 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 No - Gujarat has had "only" 12 fake encounters since 2002. If they had given some bigger a reliable number at least report would have salvaged some credibility.

Guess, you don't realize that he has support all over India. That also includes Gujarat. And nothing has been announced that you have already made a conclusion from wild media speculation.

And nothing has been announced that you have already made a conclusion from wild media speculation. As I said - if he really has support throughout the country then why is he looking for a safe seat? Lol...this is not media speculaton. Modi is looking at varanasi as his preferred seat in UP - everyone knows that. Whether he selects it or MMJoshi retains his seat is another matter..
