Stuge Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 India A is pretty much religiously following the footsteps of our Seniors i.e they are yet to cross 300 runs in any of the innings .Pretty dismal performance even if these matches doesn't count or mean much . Pitches were not easy to bat on anyways, else our FTBs would have scored mountains of runs.

When they don't score then its good so they don;t get too confident about their abilities if they fail .. they suck hahha Very good point made by ganesh :giggle:

Yesterday - Rahane-32, Pujara-33, Tiwary-32, Saha 27 could not convert their starts.

Weak WI side? How could you say that? They seem to have two really good pacers in the rank whom we might see in international cricket shortly-- Holder and Johnson. Other seamer is an all rounder Carter who is doing a much better job on these lively tracks but may not succeed as much on the placid pitches that we get in international cricket. Batsmen are good as Brathwaite, Simmon have/had played international cricket. Spinner Bishoo has played tests as well. So how can you say that it is a weak WI A side and India A is very strong?

I remember playing with Australia A in 2008 and they were bad too. One more A team had come then. Was that NZ A? They had lost as well. So you can't say they are very good unless they visit us and have a series with us.

These guys play on cotton beds in domestic cricket day in and day out and score runs for fun without facing any challenge whatsover. However when they are pushed to international cricket and face both better bowling and tougher conditions, they find it difficult to adjust. It prepares them better for their careers in the national side.

Had they been learning, I'm sure we'd have seen some improvement in at least Rohit's batting! I don't know why but I get the feeling that he is not even aware how important this series is for him or at least his test career. Or maybe he is assured that only needs to enjoy the beach of Caribbean here. He would get a test birth anyway as there is no one to claim it! If this is the attitude, then you know where will it take him.

Reality was Indian batting was weak and rotting, too much emphasis was placed on nature of wickets there but they never got exposed in WI due to WI batting. When they faced better batting sides their batting flaws were totally exposed since our bowlers who were never good to start with got hammered. I think they crossed 300 once in first innings in 11 tests including that tour. That is more an indication of bad batting rather than the good/great bowling by opposition.

So please spare this thread! well there are some players who played on the same tour (odis or tests) who are getting exposed again .My post was not about just senior players only .They got a pass because seniors also struggled then.
