My bad, Pathan bowled well in the first game. But the jury is still out on him, I hope he finishes off this series with decent numbers. He is suppose to be an all rounder which means he needs to deliver both with the bat and ball in the same game when required, can't have him alternate between the two. And no one is asking for 50 of him, but at least score consistent 20s and 30s at good strike rates and take 1 or 2 wkts at 4.5 econ.

:cantstop: Lets find FT batsman in place of Rohit/Sehwag and bowlers with econ 4.5 and avg of 30 first.

He has already contributed majorly to 2 wins this so we can say he has been successful. No all-rounder is not someone who has to deliver with both bat and ball but someone youcan depend on with both bat and ball and who makes a contribution with either discipline in a game. If he dlivers on both fronts it would be out of the world but even if he consistently delivers in one discipline consistently I will happily take him. IMO people expect way too much from Irfan. When our specialist fast bowlers go for 0/76 we are not happy with Irfan's 1/50 and when our batting lineup implodes for 138 we expect him to score a match saving 100. We need to be clear that Irfan's role should be as a 4th bowler and 3rd in the team with the ability to score quick runs down the order. If we expect him to score half centuries and take 5 wkt hauls every match, that's not realistic and I doubt any all-rounder can do that in intl cricket.

Sad day for Loins fans...

It is common to have dogs running onto Sri Lanka's grounds, but play being stopped twice in an innings due to dog poop has to be rare even here. In the 20th over of the Sri Lanka innings, a dog scampered onto the field and answered nature's call around fine short third man. There was no activity for moments after that apart from some drinks being rushed on. Finally, someone ran in to clean up with a shovel in hand even as the crowd roared. The 48th over brought another canine invasion. This time the crowd roared in anticipation of what could happen, and erupted as soon as the dog did its stuff around deep extra cover. More noise and horn-blowing greeted the arrival of the man with the shovel.

just a little grass on this track in the next game nd these diggaj batsmen will fall to ground again...only 3 players in this team can play good knock on such difficult track- kohli,gambo,dhoni

Team for the last 2 SL odis Sehwag Gambhir Rahane Kohli Tiwary Dhoni Raina Irfan Ashwin Dinda/Umesh (rest Zaheer) Rahul Sharma Let's give Rahane and Tiwary the final 2 games, and give Dinda and Umesh one game each to sowcase their skills. I doubt they will do better than 1/76 though but at least people will stop saying "ooh they didn't bowl well coz they didn't get the new ball". Let's give them the new ball and let's see what magic they perform. If they can't even bowl decently even with the new ball then they will go down below Vinay Kumar in bowling depth chart as even Vinay Kumar bowls decently with the new ball. Also, It's time we went with 7 batsmen + Pathan coz it doesn't matter whether we play 4 bowlers, 5 bowlers or 6 bowlers, we will need to score in the proximity of 300 to win the match so we may as well go in with 7 batsmen and I doubt the part-time bowlers in Viru/Raina will do worse than 1/76.

That was the sad part :giggle: Can't blame them though coz based on the recent pat they knew what would happen on the field when their team and India are involved :haha:
