people proven to be incapable of supporting themselves over a certain period of time shouldn't be allowed to live, IMO. they contribute nothing to society and they should be put out of their misery. a mass extermination of such people wouldn't be a bad idea. the indian government would do well to operate along these lines, because a lot of poverty in india is generational - i.e. poor people producing shitloads of poor kids, with the cycle going on and on. impossible to eradicate poverty under these circumstances. if you aren't going to exterminate them, at least sterilize them so they don't have to pass on their miserable lives to a future generation.

I have a simple rule: Give money to the really old and really handicapped - those who can't earn on their own. Nobody else.
I follow the same...specially really old ones. I never give children because most of these children are exploited by adults ....either by criminals or their own families. It's heartbreaking but I never give...I donate to SOS instead. I hate the young able beggers and just ignore them.

If the beggar is an older person or a women with a children, I definitely do not mind giving them some money.. If it is somebody younger, I try to buy 'em some food, instead of giving them real money because I fear they will use it buy drugs/alcohol. In India, I tend to buy those poor little kids biscuit packets rather than give them money as most times, they have this pathetic system over-lords who collect what they were able to beg. P.S; I have several funny stories of my encounters with people on the streets, especially during the time I stayed in downtown Philly. One time, I was walking down the street when a guy approached me asking for money. I asked him what he wanted it for..He said he needed it for food.. I told him I'll buy him something to eat.. We went into the nearest burger joint and I asked him to order something for less than $5... The dude nonchalantly goes about ordering pretty much every item on the menu.... I was like 'WTF.. and asked the store clerk to give a cheeseburger and thats it..

Woman slammed for giving free meals to poor http://news.insing.com/tabloid/slammed-giving-free-meals-poor/id-4c5a3f00

Being forced to stop giving out free meals has sparked an online war between Ms Lim’s friends and those who criticised her. Once netizen even said that the elderly are doing just fine and do not need her help. Ms Lim said that her overseas friends were startled when they saw the comments. “They wondered why a developed country like Singapore would have such unreasonable people,” she said in her interview with Lianhe Wanbao. Some of the netizens who made scorching comments have since removed their posts from Ms Lim’s Facebook account. “I only wanted to help people, why did they criticise me and say what I did was wrong?” she protests.
:WTF:
