hard to believe Sagarika ghose's public tweet - "Those ranting about illegal migrants shd think about millions of Indians who migrated abroad (legally and illegally) in search of better life" But we Indians migrate & integrate with the host country, not create trouble.

My friend from Manipur told me that they even hoist Pakistani flags at times and create ruckus whenever there is a India-Pakistan match. There is a simmering anger against these illegal migrants. They are a problem in West bengal too. Most of them are here either thieves or beggars. It sucks. Lets vote for congress again who suck their dick for their votes. Mofos.

This is the most incompetent, impotent and corrupt govt. in the history of Indian politics. And we have a very rich history. So, the Bangladeshi immigrants are not only throwing the local from their houses but also rioting and looting them in relief camps where there is no security. Now the local Assamese in their millions going to WB. Govt. says it is a proxy war. My foot. I am ashamed to call myself an Indian today.

I heard somewhere all these illegal bangladeshis get direct funding from Wahabi Saudi Arabia to quickly build mosques and create strong communities that will be impossible to remove later. I have spoken to few Assamese friends here and it's quite apparent how much dislike they have for the illegals whom they claim fails to integrate within India and creates their own ghetto.

The violence is communal that's a sad truth. I have heard Nirmala Sitharaman, she comes daily in Newshour and she has said that the problem is due to illegal immigrants who have changed the demography of that place. Can you beleive the percentage of Muslims in those areas have changed from 18% to 35% in 15 years. Due to no natural process this can be possible. The best reply was form Bangladesh Minister who said "No body from New Delhi or Assam has ever complained to us. What are we suppose to do?" My question is still same, is it so tough for a CM to act and stop this, if its tough then was it not tough during 2002 for a particular CM who is called as mass murderer ?
SO SO hope ur wrong on this! :((

Once upon a time dishonesty was a synonym of politicians. Then lawyers. Now Journalists. World over they are nothing more than a lying bunch of bloody sell-outs. Might as well stop taking them too seriously, before they become as influential as their western counterparts and start selling us multiculturalism and wars.

Call me cynical but this thread shows what is effectively wrong with Indian geo-politics, and why Indians (even with latest technology at their fingertips) remain ignorant. Here's why: a) Is the attention on Assam riots more perhaps due to BD immigrants? I tend to think so. It is astounding, almost criminal, to think that a riot between Assamese and non-Assamese populace draws little reaction but throw in BD and everybody starts listening. It shows how badly rest of India ignores NorthEast unless there is some masala thrown in. b) That India has porous border with Bangladesh is not a new story. Everybody knows about it, or simply assumes everything is good. It is not. The worst culprit actually is not even BD. India's worse porous border is with Nepal. You can easily walk across from Raxaul (Bihar) to Birganj (Nepal). I should know, I have done that on feet many times. It is the same story from Gorakhpur side. For Indian gangsters, it is Nepal that remains the place where they run away, smuggle weapons etc into India. c) Illegal immigrants are obviously a bane on Indian system. They create security problems, dont contribute to exchequer and change socio-demography situation overnight creating social chaos. And yet one has to wonder if atleast partially this is not driven by sheer demand? These people are escaping BD because they dont have job there and they can find a job in India. It is simple economics. During Delhi Commonwealth Games, the illegal BD immigrnts were booted out of Delhi-NCR area. And many household came to a standstill as their maid, cleaning lady, child care taker (all BD immigrant) had to go into hiding. This is lot more complex that what it looks. The solution with lie in interity and strategic decision making capablity of our leaders and janta. And frankly I have little faith there.

a)That is your reading of the situation. I would in fact argue that the situation hasn't got much attention considering the scale of riots and exodus of people into WB. It is the assamese people who have shouting off their roof tops about the immigrants for years now. b)Yeah agreed nothing new here. Was a problem is a problem. c)Yes they might be hard working and they can and do get employed in India ? And the point is ?

Every news channel is in the business of creating/promoting opinions supporting some ideology or some political party's interests. Not a single one is in the business of reporting news as it is.

Are the assamese such a Phattu bunch of people that not only get bullied by these migrant gangs but are also ready to dump their ancestral land and migrate to the safer areas ?

This is nothing new. Has been happening since more than a thousand 1000 yrs ago in the Indian subcontinent. I had predicted this would happen many yrs ago. The previous episode happened in 1990 when Pundits left. As the saying goes ... those who refuse to learn lessons from history will be condemned to re-live it again. And 10-20 yrs from now .. there will talk about giving azadi to Assam and posters like MTC will declare that the people of Assam have gotten over and its time to move on . Sound familiar ?
yup, i think Assam and North east will cede from Indian union in another 10-15 years...probably assam and meghalaya will go to BD and the rest to China. India should retreat and become homogenous. we can not survive otherwise.

from the riots and the central inaction it sure looks so. 9 to 35% in 15 years so 35 to 60% in an other 15 years considering local demographic growth as well, seems possible. AT 60% Assam should look like present day Kashmir, and rest of NE should look like present day Ladhak. sorry mate it appears the fate is sealed.

C'mmon bro...Assam is very much part of India and will continue to do so. Every Assamese I've met over here and super patriotic Indians...more than I ever will be. Retreat is for cowards. Remember Kargil, '71...how we made the pu$$ies west of be-azaad Kashmir retreat their sorry a.s.ses back to rumblepindi? China wouldn't dare dream of taking our land...this a'int 1962...our boys will be flying over Beijing before they can even widen their eyes..we might have the most corrupt/sellout political leaders but I've faith in our army, navy and the fly-boys.

I know Bossbhai , I know . The Jihadi ideology which exists under the guise of religion is responsible for all the mess that has been happening in the subcontinent for past many centuries . But , the good thing is that slowly people are realizing the cult for what it is , gone are they days when 10/10 people would give statements like " All religions are good and its all about the bad apples which exist in every religion " and dont bother to understand the reasons behind the problems . Right now you will see only the Assamese people protesting against the injustice that has been meted to them instead of Hindus all over the country .Problem is , grouping Hindus as a whole and then stirring up passions is a lot harder job than say grouping smaller groups like Assamese Hindus or Tamil Hindus or Biharis of certain caste. The situation of present day Hindus is more like the Jews in the past , However there was a massive Holocaust that happened which shook up the majority Jews who were atheistic and apolitical about Zionism. Hindus have lost millions to Islam, ceded territory, and continue losing lives in their merciless assaults. However simply due to our size of 1.1 billion of which 900 million is Hindus, the value of one Hindu life or even two hundred is diminished. They aren't going to cry over some Hindu in Kashmir or Bangladesh or Mumbai or Assam . The Jews, have been reduced to such a small number, that now under the constant reminder of such an Armageddon-like event, they will remain united and avenge the loss of one Jewish life with 200. The Hindus haven't been reduced to so few yet, although we have suffered immense atrocities. And finally as I said before, fortunately in the recent times Hindu youth in urban areas are being exposed to Hindu nationalist doctrines which have developed in response to centuries of political Islam's pillage. So it is gradually changing I guess.

Unfortunately in India, who talks the loudest gets the most attention and care. And it is only one group who has been and is doing that, right now they may not have the majority numbers. But it is increasing rapidly, sooner than later, backed with numbers and their "unity", they will call for radical changes and demands.

Problem is, how far will our armed forces & other security agencies, particularly IA & CRPF, have to firefight these problems created due to our political incompetence ? How long can we sustain 400k soldiers in the valley besides fighting Naxalism & N-E insurgencies at the same time ? The Armed Forces can do their part but the civilian administration has to take over implementing law & order as well as rebuild the local economy fast enough.
