Will do better in away tours: Tendulkar

How am I a "blind Sachin hater" when I am questioning the attitude of the team and BCCI :dontknow: Maybe you should stop getting your panties in a twist everytime you read the name "Tendulkar" on this forum. You are so defensive about Tendulkar and clearly so quick to jump at perceived slight at Tendulkar you miss the main point. The main point in this case is not about Tendulkar but about the attitude of team and BCCI in general. As I said earlier you never heard the likes of Waugh' date= Ponting, Gilchrist etc. moaning about Australia's great home record when they lost to India in India. They manned up, admitted they were not good enough and fought even harder the next time.

Another reason the budhao has to go. Great batsman, yes, but a bag of excuses every now and then? Yes to that too. "We have won abroad"?? Pray do tell when? If a Test win here and their satisfies a man who has 2 decades of cricket under his belt than frankly nothing else needs to be said. We have not won overseas series against top countries, and definitely not dominated them. And guess what? We absolutely deserve it too. Afterall the the budhao will be defended by fans who have been doing so for the same number of years he has been playing cricket - 20 plus!

Even at our peak when we reached the summit in Tests, we only had one series win over a top team, i.e. series win over Eng in 2007. Other than that there were drawn series against SA in 2010 and drawn series in Aus in 2004. That's about it! We have yet to win a series against Aus or SA which have been two of the better Test teams. As you rightly siad our ambition should not be to beat the likes of WI and NZ, we have to set our sights higher, i.e. wins in Aus & SA. Just because we can beat Aus & SA at home should not be the reason for us to be satisfied. Wi team of 80s and Aus team of 90s and noughties were great coz they beat all-comers everywhere, and not coz they could win at home and those are the teams we should try to emulate.

LOL...people using every little opportunity to get at Tendulkar. Read the whole article for a start and plus we do not even know the question that was asked to which he is quoted. Many of them have been saying that he should have retired 4-5 years ago.

Err.. no. Most of the folks are saying that he should quit odis as there's no point in continuing to play on, especially if he's gonna pick and choose. Secondly, the folks are saying there should be a proper transition plan in place coz we don't want to see SRT keep playing and then right before the next away series, when he will be 42, he quits leaving the team in the lurch. I am sure, you do appreciate that we don't want to go through the 0-8 fiasco again. By the way "most folks" wanted the same from Dravid and Laxman as well and "most folks" actually want Laxman dropped come the New Zealand series.

In those few matches which we won he has done the least of our all star batting line up.

Yeah, it is his fault. E.g. being man of the series downunder in 1999-2000, when we lost 0-3. ****er only scores when no one else does. :orderorder:

That's what hurts a lot. This was our best chance to register maiden series win in Aus with Aussies rebuilding. But alas guess we are destined not to see a series win in Aus  I was expecting India to win the series 2-1 as India had lost 0-4 to England in the summer and I thought that kick up the @$$ would make them get their shyte together.

Agreed. Loss to England can still be reconciled with to some extent. But tbh, an average team completely focused and committed to play for their country will any destroy bunch of talented players who are distracted and not passionate enough to play for their country.

Oh yeah? You forgot his inning of 91 in trent bridge, which ganguly rated as one of his best knocks. His 71 at Perth was a joke right? that inning of 44 at Jo'burg was out of this world sir.
