Amazing stats about India while chasing in odis

1. The target of 287 is the highest successfully chased by a team against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The top four run chases have been achieved by India. In fact India is the only team to successfully chase more than 240 runs against SL in SL and they have done it 5 times :hatsoff: Amazing stat really considering no other team has done it even once and India has done it 5 times :omg: 2. India has record of maximum no. of consecutive chases with 18 consecutive successful chases :omg: 3. India is the only team to have registered 70 totals in excess of 300 with maximum no. of chases of 300+ totals :hail: 4. Of course we already know that India also holds the record of the highest chase in a World Cup final, comfortably chasing a target of 274 with 6 wkts in hand :yay: Most of these records came when we played with 7 batsmen which shows that 7 batsmen formula works for us and we should stick to our strength unless we unearth genuine high quality bowlers. And these facts should be finger up the @$$ of those who think India can't handle pressure :giggle: If there's a batting unit who is more clutch than Indians I have yet to see them.

India is good while chasing.. * * strictly in sub continent :--D
Well that record of chasin 18 times did span chases outside SC and in the recent CB Series in Aus all our points came from chases :winky:

the last 18 chases how may against lions?
Not last 18. That record was made in 2006-07. But even based on recent history we have managed to chase against Loins, Pakis, Aus and Eng (during their odi series in India last year). Between must be hard to see Indians so clutch at chasing while your team gives up when the target goes beyond 200 :haha:

One man doesn't get enough credit for those last 18 than the others around him. Before those last 18 we were sh!t in chasing mind you! In my books, it is as big as an achievement we can manage. It also paved the way for our future approaches to ODI cricket.

I think our whole approach to ODIs can be summed up by the famous Sehwag quote

I tried everything. I gave the ball to [suresh] Raina, Ashwin, Jadeja and then brought the fast bowlers back; but the day belonged to Ravi Rampaul. He was connecting [bat to the ball] and [hitting] sixes. He hit six sixes and six fours so I said, OK he is hitting like that you can't do anything. Let us concentrate on our batting

I don't know why people dismiss Sehwag as a FTB and all. I really rate this guy in giving one liners and inspirational speeches :giggle:

Yup I can already see him as a successful mentor, motivational speaker and as a life coach once he's done with cricket :haha:

The very fact you have to go and hunt for games held in 1986 and 2000 says it all :hysterical: Loins are India's bi@tch and if looking at that 1986 scorecard makes your day so be it but it wouldn't change the facts in OP :giggle: By the way did you take Tommy home after the match or he's still busy cr@pping on the ground and you are hoping he cr@ps enough for the rest of the series to be called off :cantstop:

:nono: In memory of this game, I shall name the dog "Siri Cameron" for obvious reasons. We shall all greet Cameron and Siri's posts with the traditional dog "bow wow" from henceforth. Cameron and Siri Chu, May the dog sh!t always be with you. :antijinx:

^^^ A 10 wkt hammering of Loins by India :haha: Now that's something Loins can only dream of against India. Maybe they should also try to win a odi series in India for a change and just maybe win a Test on Indian soil :giggle: For folks who talk big and have a lot to say Loins haven't really done much on the field :haha:
