Umar Akmal Vs Rohit Sharma

I think he should just be given simple targets. Play 20 balls. Only hit in the V for first 30 runs. I know it sounds basic and naive but right now I just get a feeling that he is just not getting in. He would have survived atleast 2 times if he would have just played straight.
yep this is umar akmal thread...already showing off the effect :agree:

Akmal's delimma is that he bats down the otder and our all top order is all tuk tuk so pressure is always on him to score quickly and even then hes done okish in odis so far.
He is just a slogger just like Afridi is .

But he's a veteran of 80 ODI's,he should be able to figure out what works for him by himself, just look at virat.Rohit's continued selection is beginning to hurt the team,we could have lost the last 2 matches easily

I fail to see how this Akmal is a good talent. He plays a few good shots every once in a while on flat tracks similar to Uthappa and Manish Pandey but that's about it. He has poor temperament and he doesnt have a good defence. I have never seen him dominate bowling attacks even during his occasional good knocks. Of course, Pakis will always exaggerate ordinary cricketers as "great tailunted youngster batsman" but the fact of the matter is, he is only comparable to Uthappa at best who will remain an Indian national team discard and fit for IPL at the most.

Actually he started off very well but then lost the way. If he had inzi and yousaf around him he wud have been a different batsman. But even then he is ok considering the lack of batting resources we have.

pak batting line up is too bad but umar stands out some time while rohit performs only when we send him with A team. both are somewhat similar

When i hear Umar Akmal name all i hear is hype hype i remember when he first scored that century in nz and first century in sl everyone was saying next Sachin this and that but let me tell despite having so many chances to play for his team he never performed well apart from few innings here and there where as Rohit needs a Break .
Well when I hear Rohit's name all I hear is suck, suck. ATM Akmal>>>>Rohit
