:(( He was never that quick to begin with (in late 120s to mid 130s) and if he has dropped more pace I think that's the end for him as we can't do much with another Balaji sort of a bowler

What? Have even watched him ever? You must be kidding if you are saying he was 120K bowler. Watch his fist ODI abandoned against SL in Delhi. He clocked over 140K there. He has clocked 140s in even in FC cricket. He was low in pace after his shoulder reconstruction last season as he was coming back and was not in rhythm at all and at that time, he was bowling in late 120s to mid 130s. He will certainly gain more pace as he plays more. He has a good high arm action and he has done well in FC and I think he is well suited for test cricket. If can stay fit and do well in the upcoming season, he has all the chance to make a come back. Watch this, clocked 141K here. He was never really express but I have seen him bowling around 135K-144K. Yup I did watch him and most of the time he was in early to mid 130s. He may have bowled a one-off which was around 140 mark but consistently he was in early 130s with a few deliveries in late 120s. I hope he stays fit and adds pace as he gets more practice but if he has dropped pace and get the pac back it would be tough for him to break into the nationsl team.

He was bowling late 120s to early 130s after coming back from injury. He is certainly bowls 135-142 K range most of the time. In his debut match against SL, he was over 140 all the time.

Eh!! No. I have recorded the indo Pak series of 2004. I think irfan and balaji were the best fast bowling duo in that that I have seen for India. Both bowled consistently fom 135-140 and above at times throught the series.

Think UG and RKT are talking about Tyagi's pace. UG, Tyagi was consistently bowling in the high 130s in the 2008-09 domestic season i the matches I watched. The best thing was his ability to bowl at that speed even late in the day in his 3rd or 4th spell. Looked a wonderful prospect then. Injuries have wrecked his career since then.

We were talking about Tyagi and as for Balaji yup he was good in 2004 but since his injury he's not the same bowler and struggles to get up to 120 kph and mostly operates around 115 kph

I guess You have not seen Balaji bowling for a long time now. He is back clocking 130+ now this year.

That's true. I watched him in last year's IPL and he was in 110s.
That was last year, but this year he was 130+ and bowling his usual outswingers, mixed with variations like slower balls, slower bouncers. His fastest was in high 130s. He did bowl very well this season.

So' date=' what is it still the dream come true today? 4-0-33-1 wicket of Franklin in the 18th over.[/quote'] did you think he would come out with 5 for 15.. :cantstop: . Actually coming back from such a serious injury and playing again for country is definitely a dream come true for him regardless of how he makes use of it.

what i meant was nobody thought he would ever play for India again including himself. His career was pretty much over.

Neither do you expect a 34-1 as well. I expected more from him - anyways, it is too early to call. Lets see what happens in T20 WC if we plays.

I had a chance to speak to Balaji in 2007 and he was pretty positive about him making a comeback. Note - this was before the IPL.
