The problem is the Repubs start with elective abortions and end at banning birth control for women. Their theory is : Little blue pill for grumpy old men? YESSSSSSSSSSSSS Conterception for women? NOOOOOOOO God don't approve of that.

This whole Akin brouhaha shows one more time why United States politics is essentially going the India route, maybe the whole nation is. Who the eff cares about this whole "Non-legitimate rape" nonsense? When you have 10% people unemployed, housing market is in dumps, entire nation is facing severe drought, water levels in all the major rivers are hugely fallen...in such a scenario we are worried about what a completely unknown has to say about abortion? Gimme a break. Republicans make some nonsensical comments every single day it seems. How are Democrats any different though? They precisely pick up the same comments and change the National Narrative into some retarded topics. Yes lets also worry about Augusta Golf courses bringing in Women now while we are on WTF! topic of the day.

The problem is these guys not just make nonsensical statements, they sometimes act on it and they have to power to do it. What have the Republican House have done? Nothing but blocking everything and trying to pass stupid house resulation 3 "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act", fighting against Affordable Health Care Law and John Beohner tanning (Come on, it is even natural? He is from Ohio for God's sake) and crying.

Ask any Indian who has been in US for more than a decade. They will affirm Republicans have done nothing on this. They make sound bites yes but hardly overrule the prevalent social debate. The only thing that does happen, including in this case, is Democrat Senators and Congressmen, using it to raise money. Only yesterday saw bunch of emails on the Internet how XYZ Congressmen, and women, of Democratic Party will fight tooth and nail to defend women's rights! Hey effers while we are on the subject why not put the Wall Street behind bars. Its been 4 years since your President came to power. Like I said, much ado about nothing, Sure let us have debate on this but is this really number 1 political discussion to happen?

So what happened to the Constitution? Wasn't it all settled at Roe vs Wade? :winky:
I am pro choice, but when life starts is a matter that should be decided by scientists and not law degree holders.

I am just trying to think when the discussions and debates in India between the political parties were on abortion, rape, god, evolution, contraception, stem cell research etc etc. In short, that is a completely misinformed statement. Our political discourse sucks but it is not nearly in the same league of the theatre in US, although as an outsider I appreciate the entertainment.

As a conservative, I hope he loses his seat to a Democrat. What a tool.

Sorry if you have explained before' date=' but do you also agree that rape victims shouldnt have freedom to choose ?[/quote'] No, I don't agree. In case of rape/incest or endangerment to the life of the mother, abortions must be allowed. Like I explained in this very thread, in the case of rape/incest, the mother did not have a choice in the creation of the child. In the case of endangerment to the life of the mother, you are choosing between two lives. One has to lose out. A very difficult decision, but one that has to be made.

Ok let's go by your logic. I want every US soldier including the President be prosecuted for Murder for killing thousand's of innocent people in the name of collatral damage. Will the Repubs fight for those human life? If they value human life' date=' then every human life should be valued.[/quote'] I agree about the President and top-level generals to be tried as war criminals. Foot soldiers were following orders, so I'd leave them out of this. Let's do it. FWIW, I am also opposed to the death penalty.

Can the parents be forced to give birth to a child who will always remain unhealthy. Will be expensive to treat and will be a burden on the state as well . One of the parents will have to stay home, the other one might as well need to stay home part time. Who will support them ? especially considering that you do not support obamacare

(2) What if an infant gets meningitis and is in a long-term coma? Would you support terminating it because he/she will be a "burden"? I am guessing not. If one understands that life begins at conception (http://www.princeton.edu/~prolife/articles/embryoquotes2.html) then you extend that to a fetus, too.
