Ultimate_Game Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 What is the value of lambda? Don't know for sure but must be greater than Rohit's recent average in SL series :winky:
adi B Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 no comments right now of him being a future great or cementing himself at #3..he has to prove himself in other countries..a fine 100 2day nevertheless.. same people who r saying he is future great, might be the 1st to say axe him from the team if he fails elsewhere :cantstop: one thing good is,there`s a healthy competition b/w newbies,wh wants it more, who is feeling more hungry to represent india in tests and give their best !!
ShebbySB Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Very good innings now we'll see how he bats with the tailenders tomorrow.
jind Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Timing is everything...on his comeback, Pujara makes a hundred. Bravo. Will watch replay of first day's played...missed the last two sessions
CoverDrive Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 really good innings. He really looked like he belonged from the moment he came in. Was very solid and he hit some great stokes. looked uncomfortable against a couple of short balls but he will learn. maintained his focus and really want him to continue tomorrow and get a big one
vvvslaxman Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Very good innings now we'll see how he bats with the tailenders tomorrow. Ashwin can bat. So can Ishant.
daryl1985 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 His debut was a bit delayed because the team management was keen to get Raina into the Test XI. Raina was selected ahead of him for the squad to SL in 2010. Then, when Pujara made his debut against Australia (VVS injury) and smashed 72 to win the game, he was again dropped to keep Raina in the team. After Raina failed in four consecutive Tests against NZ and SA, they had no choice but to drop Raina and give Pujara a chance. Something similar is happening to Rahane - he would have likely made his debut today but again, the team management seems insistent on getting Raina into the Test XI even though Raina has done little to boost his Test credentials since that embarrassing tour of England, where he averaged 13 and made a pair in the final Test. Very good point, i was wrong. He should have been brought in a series or two earlier. Raina's selection in this test is very disappointing but predictable.
ShebbySB Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Ashwin can bat. So can Ishant. Ishant is not in the XI.I have no confidence on Dhoni,Ashwin can bat & I think he should come before Dhoni in the batting order in test matches. The rest Zak,Ojha & Umesh are all mug with the bat.
carnish Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Ashwin can bat. So can Ishant. Ishant aint playing :giggle:
daryl1985 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Ashwin can bat. So can Ishant. Ishant can hang in there in the Subcontinental pitches but i wouldn't say he can bat.
vvvslaxman Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Ishant can hang in there in the Subcontinental pitches but i wouldn't say he can bat. That's enough. Pujara doesnt have to protect him. That is more than enough for a top order batsman.
daryl1985 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 That's enough. Pujara doesnt have to protect him. That is more than enough for a top order batsman. He isn't playing though so once Ashwin goes we have a long tail.
vvvslaxman Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 He isn't playing though so once Ashwin goes we have a long tail. my bad i thought he was in the playing XI.
virufan Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Let us avoid this pre mature ejaculation Good one:haha:
Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 i'm truly amazed at how the dustbowl of rajkot could produce such a top quality batsman.
rkt.india Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 i'm truly amazed at how the dustbowl of rajkot could produce such a top quality batsman. Rajkot is not a dust bowl. It is a national highway.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Hope this is the first of many more to come, and he will score lots of those away as well
Sidhoni Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Very good innings now we'll see how he bats with the tailenders tomorrow. He has already done quite well with tail enders in India A. He won us a match by batting with No.10 batsman, Shami Ahmed and chased down a 200+ total.
