The engineers @ Tata & MDI need to take lessons from you on automotive fundamentals :haha: While you educate them, could you also recommend some other desired characteristics like 1000 km range & 0-60 mph in 3.5s along with 7 seats and additional capacity for storage ?
yoda Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 On the subject of car size and safety, even the popular and so called safe Japanese cars are no match for the stronger German cars. There is a market for all kinds of cars. You can't make an Audi at a Nano price.

Needforspeed Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I know wives of two of my friends who bought nanos. They are very happy with it. TATA has ironed out most of the problems in the 2012 model. The earlier models did have some issues. For the price, its a great piece of engineering. The Diesel version is expected to hit the market next year, and is expected to give 30 Km to a litre in real world conditions.

Some didn't grow up & worse, exported themselves while gaining a further sense of superiority.

You can't have 1 billion people driving cars in a country with limited amount of land and minimal natural resources. Trains are the future and sooner the decision makers realize that, the better.

Private businesses are going to have to put pressure on the government to think about the long term. Besides the amount of overhaul Indian railways need will require some sort of Public-Private partnership. Government neither has the money or expertise to deliver large projects on time (we are looking at relaying of the entire railway network and setup of factories to produce world class locomotives and cars). Bhel and others sarkari cos just aren't capable.

The Outsider Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Nano is the second car at my parents' place in Lucknow. For city driving in Lucknow it's a superb car. Don't feel very comfortable taking it on the highway, but it's really convenient and affordable for city driving.
