You have made such points earlier too but their basis is quite weak. I can argue the same for Tendulkar too. Gavaskar is one of the best openers EVER (not only in India). He's up for consideration in most Test XI's you pick.

How long does this winning & losing stats have to continue :wall: Does a great player adjust (raise as per Inzi logic) his game when he sees his team with a chance of winning ? Does he basically not play at full potential in losing matches, hence his lower avg ? Great players always try and perform, actually every damn player that's remotely good does that. In the end, its a combined effort that pulls one set of XI ahead of the others. My advice to fellow Indians: don't degrade your intellectual abilities, however good/bad they are by following this Lahori logic of matchwinner. You don't want to be the one defending the local water car as a scientific breakthrough of the 21st century in the coming days.

I categorically agree to the highlighted. But lets also agree to the fact that not all of us are hardwired the same way. A point P to be driven across your mind would take a certain sequence of steps which may be completely different for another person. Some of us will be fortunate enough to understand the issue at an abstract level, others may not while some others will fake their understanding while completely not getting it. As long as it is settled in one way or the other - I think we should be good.
